Fill in the blank.

I’m going to say Casey Clausen. Loved Josh Dobbs and frankly wished my daughter had married him instead of the guy she’s with now but Hooker is an elite passer and not far behind Dobbs in running ability. Iceman is still ahead though … at least for now.

No idea. Hooker is damn near perfect for Heupel’s system. Would love to see Dobbs in this system. Probably the most prolific offense since Clausen, ppl forget Bray as well who was a fine qb but had a defense that sucked.

Dobbs was smart as all get out and a much better runner than Hooker. Most importantly though, I think Hooker is a vastly better passer. I don’t remember Dobbs ever coming close to a throw like that long fade Hooker tossed to Hyatt vs LSU. I think Hooker runs Heupel’s offense better than Dobbs would.

I'm thinking as it stands now probably Peyton.

Was Clausen getting a lot Heisman talk? I was too young to remember.
He had some preseason but no. He regressed really after missing a few games his junior year. He fell so far he didn’t even get drafted or make the All SEC team.

Dobbs, Bray, and even Tee and Ainge lasted longer in the NFL than Casey did. When Randy Sanders became OC, there was a drop in the details of QB fundementals. They really didn’t improve.

I agree . I think Hooker is a much more polished thrower than Dobbs. He definitely throws a prettier ball. One thing that Dobbs definitely did/does better is avoiding the big hit. I don’t recall Dobbs ever taking a big shot, while I can think multiple big hits that HH has taken that were avoidable.

No idea. Would love to see that offense with Heupel as the coach. Or he’ll just give me Kamara in the current system with Hooker.

That’s right, Dobbs was so fluid in the run game and it made it tough for defenders to square him up for the big hit. Wish Hooker had a bit more of that ability.
