Hendon made CJH look better than he is

Lol we lose to #1 team in the country. We have a ass load of injuries on both sides of the ball to key players, and you want to make a dumbass post that HH who was a reject from Va Tech made JH look better than he is! That’s a stupid post!

Thanks for playing now run along mommies calling!
Actually we got steamrolled by every team on our schedule that mattered. How funny that you call HH a reject when we was the best QB UT has saw in sometime. Then you go on to praise Heup who only started said HH bc of injury. See the issues there?

I said a reject before he came to UT.

It starts and ends with the head coach. Heupel wanted Milton. Contrary to what a lot of people seem to think, nobody forced Milton on him. He didn't fall out of the sky and land in Neyland. Heupel could have signed other QBs out of the portal or landed another QB two years ago. He could have signed another QB--and other receivers-- out of the portal for THIS season. Didn't do it, He's had, what, two or three years to work with Milton? Huepel owns the QB play and our crappy offense in many games this season. We'll have a much firmer idea of what we've got with Heup next year, for sure.

If people are criticizing Huep after a bad loss, one thing.

Anyone calling or questioning if he is the right guy? Go ahead and call a Shrink, you need your heads examined

We are going to win as many games this year as Dobbs ever did.
I’m not saying that Dobbs was the best thing ever, I’m just saying that he covered a lot of ills when he was here. Three years solid of Justin Worley wouldn’t have achieved the same results….by a long shot. And I was very critical of Dobbs, but UT wouldn’t have made a bowl without him.

You have the #1 player in the recruiting class sitting on the bench, watching a 5th yr SR miss wide open receivers. Either way doesn't make CJH look great
Guess it’s hard to argue w that. Don’t understand the redshirt logic unless he’s just not ready. If he’s as good as advertised he will be gone when able. Look at Saban…since Hurts/Tag, to this year he consistently presses the envelope and doesn’t anoint positions.

A great QB will make any coach look better than he really is. Prime example is what's happened with the Patriots

Heupel has been successful in grooming QBs to his system and making them good QBs. He saw that Milton was very athletic ad was convinced that he could make him a super star. The two things he missed on With Milton are, he is a soft football player who doesn't want to take a hit, and he is limited in his capacity to make quick decisions and read defenses. These two traits are required to play in Heupel's system and Milton has neither. Add that to an offensive line which, although they are seniors, are not as physical as the defensive line at Alabama, Georgia, Missouri, or Florida, you have difficulty is generating a consistent offense. The defense is riddled with injuries and true Freshmen are going to make mistakes and need to mature, mentally and physically. This team is likely to win 8 or 9 games this year dispute the obstacles they have faced. As I have said, you have to have the JIMMYS AND JOES TO EXECUTE THE XS AND OS.

You also have to see and admit that Heupel made Hooker look better than he had at Va Tech.
CJH can work wonders with a QB. I really thought he had done the same with Milton when I watched the Orange Bowl ☹️

Heupel has been billed as an offensive savant. Offensive savants do more with less--otherwise, it's false advertising. He's supposed to be a guy
who can take a Milton and our offensive talent and make it more than it might be with a lesser offensive coach. He hasn't done that.
Or maybe he has? Perhaps a Milton offense without Heupel is 3-9?

Milton deserves his fair share of criticism. But I do wonder how much of the drop off in receiving talent compounded Milton’s issues….
It is never one thing. We had a series of things go wrong this season. But Joe didn’t help, especially in the big games

Title says it all, floor is open for debate
I have pointed this out in other threads, but will say it again here .... Hendon Hooker was benched at Virginia Tech. He had never shown even a glimpse of the potential he had, before transferring to Tennessee. I think you have it backwards. Heupel's system made Hooker look better than he really is.

No question the only reason this stupid hurry up scheme worked was because we had three studs on offense. Heupel has proven to be a nobody without them and is way too stubborn to change anything about his offense

So you would agree that the system worked last year .... and Tennessee just needs better players? Especially at QB and WR? Better WR prospects are on the way. A better QB prospect is already here. Hendon Hooker is not some once-in-a-lifetime player. At best, he was an average QB at Virginia Tech. Who made who?
