Here comes Mizzou

I'd be ok with this. They'd be only the third school in the SEC that is a member of the Association of American Universities (Texas A&M is also a member)

That said, I'm surprised the Big Ten doesn't seem to want them, should the Big Ten expand beyond 12.

It's hard for me to imagine that if the Big 12 and Big East implode, and the PAC 10, ACC, and SEC all add teams, that the Big Ten will watch it all from the sidelines.

We can definitely do worse than Missouri. As for them being a bad culture fit, perhaps our cultures will mix, and we'll all be better off for it.

to the SEC

Hope it happens. But I won't believe shat until I see ANY mentioned team with an SEC patch on their jersey. Way too many so, & so's to the SEC, and so far NONE have been added.

What about South Florida or UCF?

If we're looking at directional schools, ECU sounds like a better choice than either of those options.

Frankly, I think the SEC is doing well with A&M and Mizzou for 14, then looking toward WVU and Kansas or NC State if we go to 16.

would the SEC be better off with UF or FSU? UF is one of a handfull of programs that could live being a indy. IF Slive wants to risk that over a program that doesn't have the viewers(25% less than UF) and can't even pay their coaches/staff w/o state money, he'll be a bigger clown than the guy calling the shots at Texas.

UF would be begging the ACC for membership in about 3 years as an independent. I would love to see them try it.

I agree. Maybe the Dolphins will listen. He'll let's try and get the Patriots too. We need the New England market in the worst way.

No we need the packers and the steelers so we can talk about being tough

Several weeks ago they reported OU, aTm, FSU and Clemson to the SEC was a done deal too.

That report was mizzou, atm, FsU, & Clemson would be targeted by the SEC

No one ever reported anything about OU and the SEC

Noone knows how the realignment would happen yet....but it's also quite likely they do what they did when arky and USCe joined: two cross division rivals

Since Auburn and Alabama would be cross-division rivals in that proposed alignment, who should Tennessee's be? Between LSU, Missouri, Ole Miss, Miss State, Arkansas, Texas A&M, and Missouri.....I don't know if Id want an easy or more challenging opponent.

Well what I meant was, well for example,
from 1992 until around 2002, each year two of tennessee's three cross divisional matchups were always Alabama and arkansas....it was a system created by the commish and league (& deemed as an idea towards how to better establish the new teams with previous conference members as well as possibly create some new rivalries amongst them and said already members, as well as create and/or further some just amongst the previous members).

There's been alot of talk about them using that system again since they'd be (once again) introducing 2 new team's into an already established league

I get what youre saying. I forgot about the old arrangment from 92-02. Makes sense

And if Alabama is one of the cross-division rivals, who is the other? My preference would be a cupcake like Ole Miss.
