Which scenarios does the Volnation love/Hate? This is painful
1)Fire Clawson keep Fulmer and Chavis
2)Still have Kiffen(somehow) and be coming of probation with top notch recruits.
3)Dooley not hiring Sunseri and hiring anybody else that can coach defense
4)Be in the position we are in currently

#4. We are, where we are.

I think good things are headed for the program. Today's news ($18M being reallocated) is a good sign. I think UT is starting to make strategic changes to get our program back on track. I don't believe these would have happened if we hadn't been on the slide for the last 5 or so years.

No pain, no gain. It's time for some gain.

This will be a good *bump* thread if we indeed return to national prominence in the next year or so. We'll all think man #4 duh. One can only hope

# 1... Clawson was just a stupid hire. I remember wondering if Fulmer had lost his mind hiring the guy, especially when much better talent was available at the time.

1. not bad,but it be more like a long slow death Fulmer would have gotten passed the general in all time wins at UT, but the program probably would have still headed downhill albeit a little or a lot slower than it did.

2. As it turns out even with a roster full of 4 and 5 star guys, and a lesser conference. Kiffen isn't exactly lighting it up out there in Cali what is USC 7&4 ......So no thanks.

3. Again not bad,but still probably never reaching our potential. Most would say Dooley is not and never will be a good Football coach. While still believing Dooley to be a good man. It seems Highly unlikely for him to have taken us to the heights we want to go....... So again no thanks

4. =Winner, But only because it gets us Potentially the biggest and most dramatic head coaching hire of all time............GRUDEN!!!!....GBO,VFL

Not big on slaw, myself.... I'd have to go with #4 if the next month turns out like I expect it to.

If not, #1.

Fulmer all the way. The absolute, single, most incredibly stupid move of all time when TN fired him.

4.

Dang, people, quit looking back on yesterday's news as the good ole days. Fulmer was only good when he had both Cut and Chavis - so does that not tell you something? No top recruit would come to UT because he was back. You forget they stopped coming while he was still here.

Same problem only worse with Dools. This guy couldn't win a fight against himself. Nobody with any horsepower as a coach is going to hitch their wagon to Doofus.

So that leaves slimeball. No. We see how his recruiting classes work out. Say hello to Nuke, Bryce and JJ among nmerous others along with a D that is 15 years past its prime. He gifted us Tyler with his ever entertaining side events. At least Bryce got it together enough for the pros but bombed out at two major schools.

This a joke, right? Fulmer's teams were sliding downhill like a California mudslide. Not to mention there have been tons of stupid moves made by Tennessee athletics. Buzz Peterson, Lane Kiffin, Dave Clawson, Derek Dooley just for starters.
