Considering that Lee is a part of Richmond and southern heritage, I fail to see an equivalency. If a particular city or region wants to have or not have these memorials then it is up to them. Just surprised Lenin would warrant a place.

I just find it disingenuous to criticize people that want a statue taken down because they don't agree with the politics, while wanting a statue to be taken down because you disagree with the politics.

I read this from the guy in Trumps campaign that manages the events in 1 of the twitter threads that I went down from here .. sorry DC, I dont use social media so I cant get back to it ....but the guy who runs the rallies said it was the most tickets sold by 10x....ever....

I'm no fan of Lenin or any other communist, but if you can't see the cognitive dissonance of being upset about a statue of Lenin, while criticizing others for being upset about a statue of a guy who went to war against the US, I can't argue with you.

One was an American general with a famous revolutionary war hero for a father and George Washington’s most famous eulogist that chose to protect his state of Virginia , the other was a tyrannical dictator that killed his on citizens for fun or when he wanted to flex . Thanks Oburst... I dont even Bookface. No tweeting, just not my thing. My kids dont either. My wife has a facebook page, but its purpose is to share pics etc with family, fellowship with Pastor and church, and her real estate.

I think social media is 1 of the worst inventions of my lifetime, probably THE worst. It's right up there with styrofoam....will prove to be 1 of the worst inventions in history of mankind.

I agree with you on several things from what I've seen in the limited time I've been posting. But I cant on this. Supporting communism and supporting slavery aren't that different. If you want to keep statues of one that's fine, but both resulted in a lot of deaths.

I honestly don’t care , I personal think monuments should be moved to the national battlefields and left alone for history’s sake . We learn as much what not to do from history as much as we learn what to do going forward as a correction . Battlefields ( to ) me are sacred , because men willingly gave up their lives for what they believed in at the time , right or wrong . I do find it interesting ( flipping the argument around ) that a statue of Lenin seems safe anywhere on American soil , considering all the millions of lives that socialism/ communism have cost the people crushed under those systems .

Good point. But the significance is knowing their names and contact info for organization, donations, voter registering and networking.
