Herman to LSU

I think if Herman really goes to LSU, we should just petition to but that game out of just not show up to play. I seriously worry about some VN fans health if we do play them. I mean Herman is so good, that he will make Miles and Saban look like amateurs. We are screwed. They will destroy us. We suck. Fire whatever coach we have. Meltdown. Burn the mattresses.

You're getting that same reaction THIS WEEK. We're facing Derek Mason.

Herman had a very awkward interview from espn as he walked in. Asking about all the talk and you could tell he wasn't comfortable at all being asked.

I don't know how you answer these questions, to be honest, I think that type of interview is at least one reason why people are disgusted by the media. ESPN is the worse, they are a big cesspool. (unhooked from ESPN this summer)

Oh I agree. I don't think Herman goes anywhere but Texas. His competition at Texas would be miniscule compared to going to LSU.

Looking more and more like this was all bs

I would be super bummed if I was an LSU fan

Herman is the perfect fit for them

Oh man, no idea. Who else is really available?

What are the chances that if Herman stay in Houston or goes to Texas, LSU snags Applewhite for OC? From what I am told, LSU has many things in the works including keeping Coach O the interview process for offensive coordinators started this week as well. Applewhite's salary is currently $300k. I have no idea if Applewhite has been interviewed, others have though.

LSU needed to avoid a bidding war and not to be used as leverage.

What would be the chances of keeping Coach O and him possibly getting his old buddy Lane K to come in as OC and assistant head coach?

Lane wouldn't leave for lateral. He would have to be head coach imo.

Could be the case but I would think he is about ready to get out from under Little Nicky's thumb. You know he is tired of being talked to like a child on national TV every Saturday on the sidelines.

Oh no doubt his ego doesn't like it. But switching OC is a huge gamble for him. If he can do what he does best and fix the LSU qb situation a major boost to his stock. If he went and more of same ole same ole I don't think it helps him.

Kiffin--I'm quite sure he does. Kiffin's next job will be as head coach, but he won't take just any job.

He lost to Navy and SMU this year. Pretty sure he's beatable.

This is his second season AS A HC. Basically 1 1/2 recruiting classes at the lower conference level for this squad. People act like he brought Ohio State's roster with him.

And some people are acting like winning at Houston is totally unheard of. Kevin Sumlin went 12-1 in 2011 with a roster full of players he had recruited.

Sooo? In his FOURTH year?

Yes... in other words, with a complete roster that he had to recruit which is much different than taking over another coach's team as Herman has done. There are many examples of coaches who won early in their tenure with players that other coaches had recruited but couldn't win with their own players.

I think Houston's roster was average...when Herman took over. He coached up an average roster and beat FSU in the Peach Bowl...first shot. In this, his second "disappointing" season, his coached up squad trounced two top 10 opponents. Sumlin's crowning season at Houston followed a 5-7 effort. I'm wont to believe Herman's fourth squad made up of HIS players, would represent nicely. :)

I haven't heard the name mentioned internally but fans have spoken about that nightmare situation for awhile. I really hope not, I haven't heard his name as being a target as of yet....

Butch Jones 😎.

Texas would take a loooong hard look at him.

Not even kidding.
