Heupel Doubts or No?

yes, I have concerns. Esp since Heup continues always says “at least for the offense” when answering post game interviews. He is the CEO and responsible for the entire team and all three phases.

Has the regression this season caused you to have any doubts about Heupel and his future? In my case, the answer is yes, sort of. I did not think we would see 3 disheartening losses in year 3 of this staff but here we are. I am NOT calling for Heupel's head but I wonder if I'm alone in hearing a little voice in my head that says "this may not be what we thought it was going to be." I hope I'm wrong but I have some experience with the little voice. I have learned to not ingore it.
I’ve had doubts about Heupel’s decision making since he started Milton over Hooker. Do I want Heup canned? No. But he’s got a lot to learn and change fast or he will be within 3 years.

Not based on one season; especially after last season.
I expect big improvements next year. I know we lose a lot on the OL; but we should be able to overcome that with some good portal choices s

what stands out to me as much as the coordinator question marks is the lack of a team leader overall and an alpha dog on defense. We don’t have those. If we do, I must’ve missed the memo. Without an actual teammate holding you accountable, it’s just a club….not so much a team

OP, the answer is no. Take away the rose colored glasses and face reality. When Pruitt left, so too did almost our entire defense (the glaring red flag of this program at the moment). In reality, he’s got one terrible loss (USCjr) and two ugly but explainable losses (UF and Mizzou). Aside from that, nothing that’s happened under Heupel has been anything that causes me to question his ability to take this program to where it needs to be. I trust the process and I trust Heupel to lead it.

Disappointed with this year YES ! But no need to be going where y’all are going with this. CJH had a winning season year 1 with a decimated roster. 1 truly bad game in year 2, and key injuries this year - along with a handicapped offense. It’s is what it is at this point. Hopefully lessons learned and ready to move on from these failures.

wow talk about overreactions...we lost to Florida that sucked for sure, and then we lost to 3 top 10 teams...We are now 7-4 most sane people predicted 8-4... whats the regression? We lost probably the best QB we had in over 25 years the anchor of the Oline and in today's game 3 of our top 4 WR's were out. Yeah thats all terrible coaching.

Why is this a thread….
I understand to be frustrated and annoyed after the past 2 games, and the loses have happened, but like come on.
This progam was left for dead when he took and now look. 7-6, 11-2, and more then likely 8-4.
1. Its stability. Instead of falling off a cliff. Managed to go 8-4 and not be a laughing stock like it use to be.
2. Recruiting is fine, NIL is setup to make moves, and we all know an upgrade at qb.
3. The future is bright for this program. This was a Bridge year. Lost to much talent, still not enough depth, and having to work with a limited offense.
Doubt levels should be low to none at all.

No, remember the team he inherited 3 years ago after a 3 win season… we’re still in a rebuild. There are growing pains if you do it right.

Depends on what he does in the off season. Our secondary is awful. Offense is terrible. He has to know that himself. I just don’t know if he has CEO mentality or if he’s the type of coach that just rides with his guys. As much as I hate to say this, I just don’t see him getting past last season’s record. We will never be elite without better recruiting.

It’s a thread because there’s legitimate reason for concern. A UCF poster came on here the day of the hire and said Heupel was terrible in short yardage/ high leverage red zone situations and game management. Well…..guess what????
