Heupel hesitancy his only downfall.

Milton is the least of their worries, oline, lb, and secondary play was atrocious
How did you know the op was referring to Milton. Kinda goes without saying right? It’s painfully obvious to everyone, even the ones who will defend Milton to the end

Our players were lost in this game! Too much thinking & no reacting! We down our punt on the 1 ft line! First down good stop, 2nd down good stop, 3rd & 10 their qb scrambles wide right then up the field for 25 yds! Missouri could have played 9 players on offense & 9 players on defense & they still would have beat the shyt out of us! Folks that's coaching! They have to prepare these guys or have the balls to pull them if they play without effort or too soft! When we took DEEP SHOTS down field against Florida we scored or put ourselves in position to score, same with Bama, & our only score in this game! We got 2 wr's hurt in this game & Heupel still didn't try Dee Williams on offense! Dude has got some serious speed & wiggle, & we needed all the help that we could get in this game! Is it that we go into a game with a game plan, & cannot make changes? Is that why our 2nd half performances are so terrible?

Teams take on the personality of their coach, Heupel seems to be a good guy who doesn't get overly excited when things go good or mad when things go bad. In many ways it is a good personality trait to have. However; playing contact sports sometimes you gotta get PO'd and play angry. Nobody played angry or coached angry last night except Missouri. They arrived with the intent of whipping who's ever a## was in front of them, and they did!

Milton sure does lead with his mouth. Every time he runs the ball he will stand up and look at the opposing player in the face and they have a conversation. I guess it’s one of those things where if we are winning the football game, it’s not that big of a deal. But in a loss, it looks terrible from a leader on your team. But I guess I could’ve said the same thing about Kamal Hadden last year.
Milton needs to be having some convos with his teammates... he needs to get in their face

people need to slow down on Josh being the answer. He still might get it done and bring a Natty home but yesterday was unacceptable, just like Florida earlier this year, USC last year. This wasn’t a game in Athens or Tuscaloosa where we just got out talented in a meaningless game. It was against Missouri, a team that we have far more talent and resources then. It was to keep our East hopes alive and we didn’t show up. People using the depth excuse or lack of talent accuse or “it’s a tough road game”, no. This was Missouri, not Georgia. It’s a big problem.
Mostly agree but not sure how anyone who watched that game could say we were the most talented team.

That’s part of my point, and if we are not more talent than Mizzou, that’s a problem. Shouldn’t happen. But we are more talented or at the very least close to equal.

Nationdom, this is actually a really good post. Agree!

I agree!! Other teams are going to continue to expose his lack of speed on the edge.
Thank God there are not many "teams" left for this year!!! Now as for next year all we v=can do is hope and pray a lot. I can't see much change in the future. With the talent we seem to be able to attract, years of 8-4 will be about what we should expect with a 9-or 10 win year every once in a while.

Like the Florida game, we got whipped in the trenches. It’s that simple. Schraeder ran for 1,000 miles and we couldn’t run the ball at all. Joe isn’t the guy that’s going to put this team on his shoulders and go win with his passing attack. The play calling is a mystery on certain down and distance calls and the lack of willingness to get our more dynamic players into space on those plays is apparent.

Defensive scheme is a problem with our secondary out of position and letting receivers run wide open all the time. D-line has been a bright spot, but struggles because the offense is chronically three and out this year. We need to get some young O linemen up to speed and grab two or three out of the portal. Martinez needs to be shown the door. Make the call to Derick Mason and at least have that conversation. Ellerbee has been okay, but one of the best in the business at OL coach (Pittman) is going to likely be available at season’s end. You at least have to have that conversation too.

pittman not going anywhere

#44 is a good example. It is obvious he is not an SEC LB it is time to give one of the younger guys a shot.
You know something I've noticed. The sure number of post that call him #44 instead of his name, I'm guilty of this also is overwhelming.
The guy is so bad we don't even bother to learn or speak his name LOL

I am by no means calling for any coaches job but I think Heupel needs to really look at the defensive staff and their recruiting. Our lack of speed on that side of the ball is painful to watch at times.

Hopefully Carter and Terlander improve the LB position and there are a couple of young DB’s that have potential but you are right if you can’t play defense in the SEC 8-9 wins is the ceiling.
