Heupel to be announced per 247

My memory isn’t what it used to be, but, I don’t recall Heupel’s hiring being anywhere close to the reaction of Kiffin leaving. Like I said, I could totally be wrong and if I am I’ll accept it, but I don’t remember it being that bad except for a few posters. Even then, if people were still saying “Heupel isn’t the one” then by all means tar and feather them. But, for once we have a coach that seems to have united the fanbase so I’m of the opinion to just collectively cheer on the Vols and enjoy our success.

How is tagging a post to bring it back into view TAR AND FEATHERING? I have seen NO calls for disassociation for anybody based on those bits of history, but were presented as a cautionary tale of "you can't put the bullet back in the gun", and every shot you take on the board is on a security camera. Individually we are ALL what our BODY of work says we are.

I'm kinda late to the party here. I started at page one and by half-way through page two I skipped to page fifteen. Stopped at the end of page sixteen and came here. I guess we have all at some time had knee-jerk reactions to things we are passionate about. There were three types of fans involved here. The type of fan that didn't do any research and try to gain some perspective of what the hire could potentially entail and the type of fan that did check out the hire and had a wait-and-see, hope-filled perspective. Then there were the fans that heard of the hire and merely crossed their fingers and hoped for the best.

I dare say all three types are All Vol in their hearts because they care enough to click on this web site.

I am stoked like all that will read this post about the potential under Coach Heupel.

I said that if people were still doubting Heupel after this season then by all means tar and feather them because they are foolish. And I agree in some instances you should use caution, but this is a message board where mostly Tennessee fans get to hang out and post for enjoyment. Unless someone posted something criminal or discriminative in nature, I’m not of the mind that they should have to pay the price. We can all be wrong or right with our presumptions. I can recall when Butch was hired I said that it was a bad hire and I caught some flak for it. What I didn’t do is come back when he was fired and start quoting everyone that disagreed to hold them accountable. It’s an internet message board, not a court of law.

But we can agree to disagree. It’s all good. I think we can agree on one thing and that’s that it’s great to have a good coach and team again. GBO.

Also Tarring AND Feathering, a suspension of any birthday recognitions for one year, loss of 10 items or less line privileges, avatar replaced w/a "#1 To'o To'o Fan" logo, all future bowel movements be conducted in the bathrooms of off-brand independently owned & operated gas stations, and one passive aggressive phone call from your Mother saying she's not mad at you, just really, really disappointed in your choices.

Those also guilty of pre-judging/$hit-talking Bazooka Joe's Orange Bowl performance will also receive a tramp stamp with the words "Hey Sailor!" printed in bold block letters.
