Funny how, two weeks after Graham leaves, we get the two biggest RB commits we have had in a decade. I was bummed when Graham left because I had the same opinion everybody else did in regards to his recruiting. I thought he was our home run recruiter. But it looks like (at least from results from commitments) that Gillespie is at the very least as good of a recruiter (I would say better). Who is the better field coach? That is still to be determined.

Did graham feel any since of getting looked over when it came to recruiting coordinator? I know azzani now holds the position. I always thought that could have been why Jay left

people seem to be too emotional about JG leaving and get their feelings hurt more than anything. You pointed out the facts and we didn't sign a decent rb in 2 years he was here.

There is no loyalty to things such as Alma Marta or "Vol for Life" . That stuff just sounds good. Money talks and BS walks my friend , whether it be in football or preachers. The money is the bottom line.

Instant classic.

Forget about about BB in 2009? Also, Jones took the lead on Hurd and others and I bet Graham didn't care for the micromanaging so much. All things considered it seems like we are stable at coaching for a while so let's get it done on the field.

Is your Alma Marta "The Derek Zoolander Center for Kids Who Can't Read Good and Wanna Learn to Do Other Stuff Good Too?"

I wonder if there is any truth to the rumor that JG wasn't onboard with CBJ and staff's workaholic mentality?

BB was a big haul (and bust), but these two running backs happened within a week of each other, and not two weeks after our "best recruiter" took a lateral move to FSU.

Completely agree about the bust at UT but keep in mind, the rb's are verbally committed. I do however think we ended up getting the best out of this deal. Don't think Graham could take being the odd coach out VFL or not.

Was the Alma Marta a fourth vessel that landed at Plymouth Rock? :ermm:

Scapegoat. Sorry, man...could...not...stop...myself... It's a pet peeve of mine. I am not grammar police...I promise!

He was joking. That's why he used escape Goat, pre Madonna, and alma Marta. The only thing missing was pocket presents, but that would be hard to work in when describing jay Graham.

Still u said it was in a decade and the guy proved u wrong. Accept it bro. Until they start playing u won't know if these kids wouldn't be bust either.

Imo signing Green in this last class would have been impressive. Getting an in state guy to commit to the big state school is great with a touch of perfect timing but not as impressive as sealing up in 2 months a recruit that was tee'd up for him. Let's see how he does going into the big boys back yard before we crown him a recruiting guru.

Urr. Thanks! Ha! I get it. (sigh) Reading it written incorrectly on here so often makes me twitch. I should know better about being a jerk...it is usually the wrong action.

He did prove me wrong. I accepted it by saying that BB was a big haul. Were you looking for some sort of heart felt apology for my mis-speaking or something. And furthermore, that part of the post was not really a primary point. The point was that Jay Graham was here for two recruiting classes and got zero high ranked RB's. When he left, we immediately got two highly regarded RB's. In state or not is completely irrelevant imo.
