Good luck jmoore and thanks for everything. I am an Air Force veteran and my advice is to go ahead and get in shape before you go, dont wait till you get there. it will make it a thousand times easier. i started doing 50 then got up to 200 pushups and situps every day, and ran 3 miles 3 or 4 times a week and did this for about 3 months before I went to basic training and it helped a ton. go ahead an eliminate caffeine and stuff now if you can. good luck and God bless.

Thanks everyone I really do appreciate it alot :hi:, this is why it's great to be a Tennessee Vol. It's like one big family!

For those asking, my basic training will be in Great Lakes. Yes I know its going to be FREEZING & snowing like crazy while I'm there. Lol. My "A" school is in Meridian, Ms. I signed up as a ship servicemen (SH).

Also, if some of you would want to write back & forth & talk about the Vols & keep me updated with recruiting I'd be more than welcomed too. Just send me a PM with your address if you want & once I get to bootcamp I will send a letter so you can have my address also.

Another thing, I should be getting my 15 days of leave to come back home right around the time of the Orange & White game in April. If any of you would like to meet up at that game & just talk some football & catch me up on things it would be great to meet you.

Jmoore, to you and all of those posting on this site that have, continue to, or will in the future serve this country faithfully, thank you. You guys (& gals) are what made and continue to make this country into the greatest nation ever to exist in the history of all mankind. This is a fact.

There has never existed an empire, confederation, or unified state with such a free, self-determining populace, with so much wealth & economic capacity, fielding an all volunteer, always prepared, passionately motivated, massively overpowering, devastatingly destructive, technologically superior, and fearsomely capable military force, that has the ability to strike anywhere on Earth with overwhelming force in a heartbeat, to protect its interests, its people, the innocent and those unable to protect themselves.

We are lucky to live in this, the greatest epoch of human history, and it is because of all of you, your sacrifice and commitment that it is so.

Jmo, your recruiting updates, and frankly all of the time and work you have put in to keeping all of us hardcore Vols' fans informed and up to date, deserve much more than just the simple thanks that is all we have to give in return. I will miss your regular presence here and fear things won't be the same without you. Rest easy though while dealing with the rigors of boot camp, in the knowledge that others will keep the boards rolling, the information flowing, and the orange support waving in your stead.

God bless you. May he look after you, your family, your friends, and all of your loved ones throughout this, which is undoubtedly to be one of the most challenging periods of your and everyone whom loves you's lives.

Good luck man, military service is pretty good. My first two units were ships and I missed a lot of football. It really makes me appreciate the seasons even more now that I have the opportunity to be at a shore based unit. It also makes you realize even more how awesome home is, but you will get to see a lot that you might not otherwise. GO VOLS!!

I have been a member here for 4 years and you and 1 other poster I really trusted as far as recruiting updates.

Like Freak mentioned we need to get the recruits mailed to you ASAP.
