Looks like the Dr. beat me to the punch. Surgeon came in earlier this evening and asked if I was ready. I said yes, he said, "Good, because we have you scheduled to go downstairs at 5am." So barring any last minute, unforeseen circumstances, I'll be getting a new liver in the am. Already had some last minute tests done, so I think I'm ready on my end. Last step is the surgeon getting a good look at the donor liver for his approval.


Thank you all for your support. I'm sure it'll be several days at least until I can post again. Keep me in your prayers or thoughts and hopefully all will be well.

Hey Weezer let us know if you need some Big Orange blood donations...you know just in case they gave you a liver from a Bama or Vandy fan 😄

When my grandson, his fiance and I went to the Florida game last year Weeze came by our hotel room and we went out and had lunch. After lunch he gave us all a tour of the Tennessee campus and Neyland stadium. I am literally crying tears of joy he has gotten a new liver and hope our dear and gracious heavenly father watches over him as he recovers and his body accepts this new life saving organ. I'm praying all of the suffering he has had to endure is a thing of the past. God bless you Weezie!

I dont know anyone on these boards personally. I have been reading this thread for weeks but I haven't posted. Really pulling for Weezer. So glad to to read the news of his transplant.

Hey Weez, just to give you an idea of the breadth of people thinking about you and pulling for you...

Generally speaking, my wife is no more interested in the goings-on on VolNation than I am in telling her about them. But I have been keeping her up on your situation and today she was very happy to hear that you got a new liver. As was I of course.

So just know that there are a lot of people pulling for you and sending good thoughts your way, random people like us on the other end of the country who don't know you from Adam but genuinely hope your miracle has just occurred.

It's a good world and I'm glad to think you'll be there to appreciate it a lot longer. My best to you and yours.
