Hey, what happened?

I hold no grudge against Hat. I gather he is a lawyer in Miami and he must just be absolutely inundated day in and day out with Gator fans making comments. Must be hell for him, especially knowing that as the seasons come and go, his own team is in the twilight of its life as a major program whereas Florida has seen a rebirth!!!

I just hope our rebirth isn't like Florida's. I can't imagine what it must be like to be 5 years removed from a 10 win season.

A rebirth? Really?

So what happens if Florida falls on it's face this season? Does that mean the program is dead? I don't think I would take three straight 8-5 seasons and then have one 10 win season and say that you have expierenced a "rebirth" just yet. Florida fans are shooting their wad a little early on the Urban Crier. It's gonna be fun to watch them turn on him when things don't exactly pan out the way they think.

No, no. This is going to take, IMO, about 2-3 more years. And then Florida will once again be an automatic in the BCS, there will be peace throughout the world, cherry lollipops will grow on trees above licorice grass, and Alabama will be on infinite probation.

Is there still worry in Gator country that the spread may not be very effective in the SEC?

Sure. But the right kind of talent is not there right now -- I think most fans believe it can work when this offesnive line gets some game experience and Tim Tebow has a year under his belt. I'd say next year or even '08 before you really see Florida devoted to the spread-option offense.

The Gator fans in South Florida, all 5 of them, keep their mouths shut and bow before their tormentors. People who realize they are third in their own state tend to be rather subdued. Also, if Capitol One Bowl bids are a rebirth, I would hate to see a decline.

i think just coming out of the SEC there will never be an "automatic" bcs team, it sucks, but that is just the nature of the league

It will work in the SEC, just not against good SEC defenses. If they improve two fold over last year, then we can expect them to score two field goals instead of one against us. Well, on second thought, we lost 7 starters. Give em 10 points.
