Hide Your Kids

Women murder babies every day in this country. Would you want to step in and save the lives of these babies? If a woman has a right to murder her baby, whats the difference in what you posted above?

You didn't answer the question either.

where does it say this is going to be enforced?

some people need to be told they're fat and unhealthy, kids and adults.

It doesn't say it's enforced, but if somehow health care is passed this will probably be included.

I don't put anything past the Obama's. They're libs for crying out loud.

i think it's more that the obama's feel like it is their duty to condesend to the rest of us and force their views on the rest of america. "my kids were fat once too!" Thanks michele. because all of us are upper class lawyers with personal chefs and trainers.

Asinine. Your implication is that the Obamas are able to have healthy food because they're rich and have a personal chef. Good grief.

Yes, I agree with her. It's her decision.

My son had open-heart surgery at 3 years of age. His surgeon told me that it was in his best interest to have the surgery, but also said he had a slim chance he'd be alright without surgery.

I made the choice for surgery even though there was a slim chance he'd be ok.

If I were to have cancer and refuse treatment, would it be ok for the government to step in and force me to take treatment?

I noticed you didn't answer my question either.

who is saying intervene or take over parenting. By most accounts MO is a smart lady. Even she admits it took an outside influence to point out that she needed to change. Offering help is not taking over. A healthier population helps us all down the road

To you I say, Have you read the bill?

You didn't answer my question. Do you agree that the boy's mother has a right to refuse chemotherapy for him?

Who the hell said anything about being jailed?

are you really trying to argue the two situations are even remotely similar? and actually many here woudl argue the mother had a right to refuse chemo. it's not a cut and dry issue by any stretch of the imagination.

no. my implication is the obama's continually act like they are the common man when they are clearly nothing of the sort. it's condesending and pathetic.

Of course not, you're not a minor. Surely you can see the difference.

I didn't answer your question because it's a Red Herring. Create an abortion thread and we can debate when life begins and all that good stuff.

My question was whether the government should be able to intervene if you're putting a child's health at risk.

How you make the leap to that from MO talking about changing the way her kids eat is beyond reason.

I don't believe this is a bill but I read and am discussing the link the OP provided. If he has more than that to base his assumption on then I will read that too.

If it's an ad/PSA/public health campaign I've got no problem with it. If it moves to regulations/laws then I'll be concerned.

Kind of like taxing non-diet soft drinks.

actually i don't think the "non-diet" was even part of the bill. just soft drinks period. of course despite numerous clinical studies that prove otherwise the left is convinced diet drinks are horrible for you too.

Didn't realize that. Big Mac tax coming to a McDonalds near you soon.

these are the same idiots who ban soft drinks from schools (even diet ones) and replace them with sunny delight or some other fruit drink that has tons of calories.
