That looks more fun than a Jeep.

So do you guys prefer to hike in groups or alone? I've always sort of liked the alone time..I can go at my own pace and it helps me unwind from work...my wife worries about me on the longer ones though..probably my fault after I show her the bear in area sign pics or tell her about the snakes I almost stepped on :)

I have a hiking buddy. I don't think I would enjoy large groups.

When I was living in K-town, I would hike most of the time with a buddy... but did some solo hikes. But that was during the time where on-trail attacks occurred. Some were pretty serious attacks. So, while it was fun to be out there alone with mother nature, man I would get nervous when I met someone on the trial.

Hiked the Porter's Creek trail on Saturday morning. This was a good hike. Just under 8 mile round trip with plenty of wild flowers and a water fall. Plus the sound of the running creek for most of the way. My six year old hiked 90% of this without me having to carry him. I would like to go back towards the end of this month and see if the wild flowers had bloomed more.

Couldn't find a thread for this, which is surprising. I miss the Smokies like crazy so please post pics.

Me and the old lady did Siphon Draw to Flat Iron today. Tonto National Forest. 5.5 miles and 2900 feet of elevation in 4.5 hours. Flat Iron is the peak in the way back:

I'm so freaking jealous of people in shape. My body fell apart on me in my early 30s. I wish I could have my 20s back. I wasted them on stupidity. Keep livin that beautiful life for old farts like me.

Remind you of Utah a bit?

I would love to hike out west. I lived in AZ when I was 6-7 years old but haven't been back.
