Tennessee beats UK twice and wins the SEC Tournament.
Lunardi: “It doesn’t matter”
That has to got to be the most piss poor explanation I’ve ever heard in my life.
The thing is, I don’t think it has anything to do with the Sunday game. The entire tournament didn’t count. Zero teams that were top seeds and lost in first round were dropped due to loss and the wins also meant nothing. They decided who was who prior to this weekend and didn’t want to change it.I think Lunardi's point was (and he probably had inside information) that the committee had already decided the bracket and the Sunday games meant nothing to the selection committee.
I'm also guessing they threw Coach K a softball (2 seed should have been a low 3 seed at best) for his farewell tournament.

ND ALWAYS gets the rubWow. It's not just Tennessee that got screwed. It legitimately looks like the selection committee did not watch a single game in the past month.
Notre Dame (NET rank of #53) and Wyoming (NET rank of #50) get in over Texas A&M (NET rank of #42)? This is even worse than it seems once you go outside the NET rankings and look at other reliable computer pollsters. Sagarin has Wyoming as #83 and Notre Dame as #54. And neither team had a compelling late season run to justify it like Texas A&M.
Hoping our Vols play with a chip on their shoulder in the tournament. They put us below at least 4 teams we should have been above. They seriously put Duke and Wisconsin above us. Complete joke!
They should just get rid of the whole quadrant BS. It doesn’t matter. Just rank the teams based on popularity, that way we know where we stand for the tournament. My problem with this whole thing is that we had 10 quad 1 wins maybe 11.
Was the second most Q1 wins to Kansas. 0 Losses in Quad 4, 3 or 2.
SOR 4th or 5th
Top 10 in Defense and Top 30 in Offense Efficiency.
Yet we are a 3 seed. Does not make any Sense to me.
I think it is a blessing for us they threw it to him. Who wants to end their career in that bracket. Duke will be lucky to make it to the Sweet 16.I think Lunardi's point was (and he probably had inside information) that the committee had already decided the bracket and the Sunday games meant nothing to the selection committee.

Had we been the 2 seed line we would have ended up in that Bracket.
Auburn should have been in that bracket to be honest and we should have been in Auburn's or Kentucky's bracket as the two seed.
Auburn was saved in two games this year by the Refs Georgia and Mississippi State games.
Technically Auburn should have been a 3 seed but they barely won the Conference and if the Conference Scheduling was equal then the outcome would have been completely different.
Our conference does more damage to its teams than the committee does.
OOC are the best way to get ahead and yet we did and it was evidently never considered
The NCAA needs to do it's job and set the standard and guidelines for Getting into the NCAA tournament.
We assumed it was there but it really is not when you have a committee that focuses on everything else but the sport.
I am tired of a bunch of Administrators that are boosting about the fact that they sat on a Selection Committee but have no idea of how to perform the evaluation to get it done.
Truth be told Lunardi probably had Tennessee easily as a 2 seed but was told otherwise by a person on the inside at the Committee so he stuck to his guns but did a piss poor job of explaining it because he did not understand why they were a 3 seed.
