Historically what school surprises you in recruiting?

I heard a story a long, long time ago. In the days before Dabo.

When eBay was at its height, the Clemson boosters would tell players and recruits to put items on eBay, then the boosters would overpay by thousands for stupid crap like lamps or used books.

Not a bad point. When is the last time they beat someone relevant or were a national power? Hell was it in the Lavar Arrington days? He’s got a kid that just got recruited by them.
