Holly needs to be let go tomorrow

Holly should be released before the sun sets in Knoxville...which is in the next couple of hours! Pathetic, woefully lacking any offensive direction as a team...an embarrassment to the name on the court, The Summitt!!!

All I can say is that this is a very sad situation. What a shame for a once storied program. I really feel bad for the team. There is no doubt, we are headed in the wrong direction, hopeful we can turn this around. However, no matter I still love the Lady Vols.

If you want to bury the announcement, I guess you could do it tonight.

I would like Hart to come up with a plan in the AM and announce said plan about 3pm tomorrow.

She should be fired before she has a chance to leave the building.

To all of you Holly supporters, what excuse will you make for her now? Oh, the fact they only have 7 players available? Well our 7 should outclass their entire unranked team.

Plus, I have never seen so many injuries on a team since Warlick took over. What, break a nail and you don't dress out?

Give her a certificate of appreciation for her years of service and have her hit the door... What an embarrassment!

100% agree. We have one of the biggest fan bases of any women's basketball program with a rich history. We need to throw some money at a slamdunk hire tho.

It just feels like were fading into nothingness like LA Tech did in the early 90s.

Absolutely, positively, without a doubt, Holly needs to resign and do it now. This program has no energy, no drive, no motivation and that is not the players, that is the coach. She was handed a dynasty and is slowly but surely destroying it. One word comes to mind. Pathetic.

Hart's not going to take on a coaching search. It will cost too much, he doesn't care enough and he doesn't want to take it on. Hart is part of the problem, not the solution.

Yes, ask LA TECH how long you can milk a legacy? How relevant are they now? In this day and age, there is more parity. You better put the breaks on this slide into mediocrity or there may be no coming back.

Honestly, the Lady Vols haven't been relevant for some time. We're not a Top 5 program anymore. Heck, right now, I don't think we are a Top 20 program. Unless something drastically changes, this will be a very PAINFUL season.

Warlick is sucking the life out of the Lady Vol program. Reminds me of what Dooley did to the football team.

You realize that Holly isn't going anywhere. Certainly not this year. She signed an extension for an additional year and I don't see UT buying out her contract.
IMO, she could miss making the NCAA's this year and still not be fired.
It would take a complete insurrection by the players for a change to occur this year
and that's not going to happen.
I see 2 or 3 years of bad results before a change is made.

If I may...
As yall know, UTC has won 2 of the last 4 games with UTK, both teams winning at home. We lost by 2 this year. Look at the rosters, to be honest, there is probably not a single player on the UTC roster that was deemed good enough in high school to be recruited by UTK. Yet we can play with UTK and win. So, one must ask, why?

If UTK has superior talent, that leaves coaching. I ask, does Holly have a system or "just rolls the ball out there"? When Holly recruits do she and her staff recruit players to a system, players that fit the system, or do they just try to sign the most "stars" they can get, as in five and four star players. Does she recruit players who are coachable, just having raw talent is not enough anymore in today's game.

Yall know the answers much more than me, but just as an occasional viewer, I think our Hall of Fame coach and his "all city" players have a game plan that Holly and her "all americans" are not prepared for. In the old days you could get the top players in the country and pretty much just roll the ball out there, but that day has ended. You need to have a system, recruit players who fit that, and who are coachable.

Like or not, UTK is now just one of the pack chasing UCONN and not catching them. We, UTC, played UTK to 2 points, UCONN beat us by almost 50 and IMO those scores reflect the difference in the programs at this moment.

Thanks.

I've been saying since halfway through her first year that Warlick was a terrible coach--it was obvious. We've been a very badly coached team for years dating well back before Summitt retired. We were not good under Summitt for her last several years, and we are worse now. And, yes, if Hart thinks there is no problem here, he's a big part of the problem, too. This situation cannot continue.

Anyone know how much it would cost for the university to buy out her contract?

Just like a train with the engine gone kaput, the residual momentum from Pat's glory years has finally come to a complete stop. I hate it for Holly because she is a genuinely nice and kind person. Nevertheless, reality is reality.

I wonder if she would get the message if someone sent her a pair of orange slacks and instructed her to wear them on game days? That would be a bit more gentle than parking a moving van in her driveway.

I just can't imagine what it will be like having to live through a severe Lady Vols drought...never had to do that before.

Am waiting to see Warlick's press conference. I'm sure there will be much confusion in her mind, much head-shaking, much perplexity about why we are an embarrassingly bad offensive/shooting team. What's the over/under on how long into the press conference before she mentions "quick-shooting the basketball." That is always our problem, in her view, which really means that Warlick has no idea what the problems are and has no idea how to fix them, and neither does anyone on her staff.

I can't stomach her post game interview with Mickey, could someone summarize when it happens?

It's the same interview after every lose or win. You don't even have to listen to it. It's always something like,

" Well uhh Mickey, we just weren't after it today. We had too many turnovers. We have to limit those if you want to win ball games. I thought uhh Diamond and Mercedes played well, I thought we needed other players to step up umm we couldn't knock down shots today. Umm, I thought their zone uhh really gave us problems. As you know and the world knows we like to umm play through our post and Va Tech did a good job of taking that away umm. I think I think that uhh we really didn't do a good job defending the three or boxing out. The intensity just wasn't there tonight. I I I just don't know what the problem is or what's it going to take for us to get better.

That's EVERY interview she gives.
