Love Love Love the Lady Vols but this is really sad.. They play with no purpose.. They stand flat footed and let players shoot over them.. I was bashed on my fb when I post that I expected more from them the first several games that they struggled so.. I was told to give them time to mesh but what I couldn't understand, how these other teams were meshing already.. I just pray this gets fixed before it gets totally out of hand.. Go Lady Vols!!!!

This is going to be a rough season for the LadyVols. Holly needs to be shown the door at the end of the season if Hart gives a hoot in hell about Women's Basketball.

It's the same interview after every lose or win. You don't even have to listen to it. It's always something like,

" Well uhh Mickey, we just weren't after it today. We had too many turnovers. We have to limit those if you want to win ball games. I thought uhh Diamond and Mercedes played well, I thought we needed other players to step up umm we couldn't knock down shots today. Umm, I thought their zone uhh really gave us problems. As you know and the world knows we like to umm play through our post and Va Tech did a good job of taking that away umm. I think I think that uhh we really didn't do a good job defending the three or boxing out. The intensity just wasn't there tonight. I I I just don't know what the problem is or what's it going to take for us to get better.

That's EVERY interview she gives.

You must have nightmares.

Really, if Holly had the best interests of the program at heart she would resign tomorrow. She must know she isn't capable. With two or three more loses before the season starts she must then realize she needs to step down.

Besides the fans the only others that could make a difference might be our past players. There are hundreds of proud Lady Vols who do not want to see the legacy of their program perish. Maybe when and if the Parkers, Holdsclaws, Catchings, etc. start to speak out the higher ups might listen.

That's exactly the problem! She doesn't know.
If Hart fired her tomorrow she wouldn't understand why.
She would think he was just being mean.

the game has bypassed Warlick - need a younger more energetic coach to get the program off life support before it flatlines

I've been saying since halfway through her first year that Warlick was a terrible coach--it was obvious. We've been a very badly coached team for years dating well back before Summitt retired. We were not good under Summitt for her last several years, and we are worse now. And, yes, if Hart thinks there is no problem here, he's a big part of the problem, too. This situation cannot continue.

I've been saying the same and getting blasted for it on FB especially. HW = good person I'm sure. HW = terrible head coach.

saw the press conference..... and Holly could not explain why team has not been playing up to its potential..... well IMO, pretty simple.... need some sort of offensive scheme.... all cannot be solved through heart hustle and effort..... she has great players..... she should coach them to their ability potential

It would take a complete insurrection by the players for a change to occur this year

I think that's happening right now-- the player's don't respect Holly, and they are tanking on the season. Too bad for Holly, she's not a good fit. I wish she'd resign immediately for the good of the LV program.

Funny, but true, especially all the "umm's"

She should be fired before she has a chance to leave the building.

To all of you Holly supporters, what excuse will you make for her now? Oh, the fact they only have 7 players available? Well our 7 should outclass their entire unranked team.

Plus, I have never seen so many injuries on a team since Warlick took over. What, break a nail and you don't dress out?

Give her a certificate of appreciation for her years of service and have her hit the door... What an embarrassment!
#1 the concussion protocol changed even though no one else seems to have the problems we do. #2 Maybe Jenny Moshak(sp) was that good??? #3 maybe we are cursed

Realistically how long does it take for Hart to pull the plug on Holly? He just stated how "proud" he was with her being our coach. She's got us to the elite 8 and a pair of sweet 16's.I just don't see a change being made till we fail to reach a tourney 2 out of 3 years.

That's my lack of faith in Hart.

If Holly has a bad recruiting effort for 2017, I think Dave would have to pull the trigger. I would think that those fans that want the LV's to be among the elite would go ballistic. I also think that bad press would also force his hand.

Alot of AD's have said they were behind their coach until they were forced to take an adverse action. One thing that could force Dave's hand is if Holly has truly lost the locker room and especially if students start to bail. This of course is all subjective.

I think it will take more than Holly's bad offense, aweful interviews and playing cupcakes close games, for her to be fired. She will win in excess of 22 games at least for the next two years based on the talent she already has and I highly doubt she will go nil in recruiting two years in a row. Also the team will land in the tournament with at least a five seed for the next two to three years. She will not get fired though she may not make the final four. That is the fan base requirement and not necessarily Dave's or the administration.

I have read several post where the players are blamed for the issues on this team and efforts made to give Holly a pass. Holly does not deserve a pass nor players being blamed for what we are seeing now. The root cause is our offense that is one dementional. The players do not come up with the offensive game plan, that is the job of the head coach. When you give players only one option, throw it inside, throw it inside, and this option does not work, players will become frustrated, they are 18 to 21 year old young people what do we expect?
Once you become frustrated, I mean anyone, I do not care if you are 75, your mindset deteriorates and you have no clue how to get things back on track. The players are confused as to how they can overcome the situation. This happens to every team every now and then, even UCONN. It is up to the coaching staff to come up with a plan of attack that includes options when you are cut off from being successful at your original plan. Holly and her coaching staff should go into every game knowing they will see the zone defence. Holly and the coaches are responsible for creating a way to bust the zone.

Smh....Holly can't win for losing! Basketball 101....how do you beat a zone??? Shoot well from the perimeter! Holly can't shoot the damn 3s nor the mid range shots. Almost 3/4ths of the shots we took from 3 were mainly open BECAUSE of the offensive scheme Holly and Co set up for the players. These players SUCK at shooting the rock....end of story! Carter sucks...Reynolds sucks....Middleton sucks. These players are good at certain aspects of the game but SHOOTING is not one of them! Until we get a guard that can light it up from the perimeter, we're going to struggle.

I get that Holly wants to bang the ball inside. Any competent coach knows that the most efficient way to score points is by scoring the ball as close to the basket as possible. The %s don't lie. If you run your offense through the post it almost ALWAYS creates an open shot....which we get....we just miss!

Our problem with this team are the guards...not Holly! They can't score, play defense, nor dribble drive.
