Holly Not Going Anywhere

Well, I don't know what your point was. What you posted was Cadwell (sic) has yet to recieve (sic) 100 wins. A demonstrably false statement.

To be clear, I did not nor am I suggesting Caldwell for coach. But I know how to look up how many wins she has as HC.

did she get a 100 wins in her first 4 years as the head coach ?

Madtown, as usual, love your posts:). (Feel free to contact me as an experienced informant anytime for historical questions re the LVs. Sat with NightTrain her Prop 48 year and have been in love with the program ever since:air_kiss:.)

Just to help you out, Pat Summitt was at one time a coach in the NCAA. Spent her whole career at UT (because KY made a BAAAAAAAAD error in economics.)

since you the "experienced informant " how many years did it take for CPS to get to a 100 wins ? and yes,I'm just to lazy to look it up:)

HUH, What?? You mean Holly's not the first coach of the team? I thought LV basketball just started this season; MIND BLOWN! I will have to google on this. Just give me a second: "Did the LV basketball program exist before the 2015-2016 season? Hmmm, a lot of links are popping up. Well I'll be....

But I do know some folks that were alive way back in the day when the LVs played in the AIAW and could never quite get over the hump against Cheryl Miller and USC (I thought those stories were like, you know ancient Greek myths; Cheryl Miller, Zeus and so on). I guess not...

And those people tell me that times change; there is more parity in women's basketball and that it is not healthy to live in the past. They also acknowledge that LVs have clearly dropped a notch from the program's heyday as evinced by the final four drought and the struggles of this season. And they point out that Holly actually inherited a program that had already dropped a level. Is she the coach to bring them back up to elite status? My more experienced confidants tell me that there is a good reason to have doubts about this. But they also note she is the head coach and that her status is not likely to change in the future. So, it does not hurt to at take some pleasures when positive glimmers appear. In the end, there is not much difference between wishing that Holly gets fired or that she grows into the job. Both positions recognize that things on the coaching side need to improve.

But, if someone says only firing Holly will do, that entrenchment suggest that it is more about personality than results.

And last but not least, my experienced informants say that if someone can't take any pleasure from a conference win or the LV's very recent SEC co-championship or the moments of brilliance that these players sometimes display, then you really should find something else to do.

Okay, I am going to read up on who this Pat Summitt person is.

Great Post!

Fans my ass, fire a coach midseason, fire a coach and think the program will improve, recruits bolt during coaching changes, but I love the Lady Vols, I love Pat. Whateva?

I don't think Pat had to deal with this kind of none-sense, where she has to get on the t.v to defend her job, like that really helps recruiting.

I back Pat and roll with Holly!

Fire Holly! NOW!:)

If you're looking for like minded Holly minions why not post on the Summitt? That's where you'll find all things roll with Holly. In the mean time while you're contemplating that roll..FIRE HOLLY! NOW! SHE'S THE WORSE COACH EVER!

well it look like you have created an account to just complain about CHW,there seems to be a lot of that going on and others have just come to the Lady Vols Forum to just holler let's fire a coach

there wasn't this much interest in this forum when CPS was coaching, now it is very active in here with the let's fire a coach crowd,it has been a very vocal crowd as of lately

which I personally don't put a lot of stock into what the new crowd thinks, since they weren't posting when CPS was the head coach,

hmmmm probably the same crowd that thinks it isn't The Lady Vols of Tennessee

Just finished watching the replay of Kellie Harper's Mizzou State vs. Northern Iowa game on ESPN3 online.

Well worth watching...won't spoil it for anyone who hasn't see it, but really fantastic finish to the game. Both teams played good defense (looked like LV pressure defense of old), and both teams moved the ball well on offense...lots of cutting, screening, crisp passing, few turnovers, etc.).

It was a pleasure to watch, especially the players moving without the ball & people looking for teammates. And excellent three-point shooting as well.

In addition nice to see teams being able to hold onto the ball when needed to burn clock without committing silly turnovers.

Liked the halftime profile of Lady Bears' Kenzie Williams, who has had to come back from two ACL injuries. I still think Kellie looks & sounds like Pat. And her players seem to respond well to sideline coaching from her, Jon, & other assistants.

You're assuming a lot in your post. I'm commenting on what is going on with the Lady Vols this season. Just because I wasn't posting on here before this season does not give your comments any credence.

I like the Lady Vols very much. Been a fan for quite some time. I care for this team. They gave me enjoyment watching them play. I don't like HW as the coach. And apparently you know why I don't like her.

I'm hoping to comment and post more positive stuff about the team because CHW isn't going anywhere. But that will only happen if the LVs keep winning. If they keep losing or playing sloppy bball> Fire Holly! NOW! :)

it is basketball,so there is no telling how good or bad they are this year till the NCAA Tournament is over, which means there is still a lot of basketball to be played and yes I did assume a lot,I hope I am wrong

And that only makes my point we would rather take a coach who has not recruited were she is and has almost 100 loses compared to a coach who besides this year has recruited well and only has 28 loses hmmm

Yeap. Much better than what we have now.

I roll with Holly. She is coaching her ass off this year and personally I haven't seen the SEC this tough in a while, there are some really good coaches and players around our league.

If it's about getting that ass off...how 'bout we buy
jazzercise classes for CHW and invest the rest in a top tier head coach.

The team played lousy in the first 20 games of the season for the most part. Holly should have had them more prepared and ready to go than they were. Having said that she and her staff have made strides and need to keep it up for the rest of the season. I don't think were going to any final fours this season as we don't have a player named Jolley coming of injury, but we can close real strong and get to about 22 to 23 wins if we keep progressing.

Thank you for being considerate. I'm not the enemy I'm a fan with an opposite opinion about our coach. Honestly, I hope I'm wrong too. With each win I become less of a Holly hater.

If it pans out like that then it would had been an exciting season to say the least. And I would be the first one on here to give Holly her props.

Crossing my fingers XX.

Holly will win enough games to keep her job but the team will not go deep into the tourney under her. If she was a hot commodity, she would have had a head coaching gig long before she backed into the present one.

Oh, I guess we can fall further out of prominence. If we keep Holly, I think we will start the season ranked in the twenties or out of the poll in one to two seasons.

One has been a HC for 7.5 years, the other has been a HC for 3.5 years. Who do you expect to have more losses?

One is the HC at one of the two standard bearers in ALL of WBB, the other is the HC at LSU. The two programs are not comparable historically.

Recruits bolt during coaching changes? Hahahahahaha.....you have to have recruits for them to bolt. Maybe you meant that we might get some recruits if we make a coaching change.

Where there is smoke you usually find a fire. The smoke is losing like the A/M game, the pre-season ranking against our putrid record, the lack of recruiting success, and the awful player development. Now where is the smoke coming from? The coaching staff especially Holly just don't have answers. Listen to her press conferences, she just has no clue to address this team's problems.Holly is the fire, this great program is going down faster than the Edmund Fitzgerald.

Anyone that thinks Holly just needs more time or will turn things around is delusional imo. She is a great assistant coach, but not a good HC.

Recruits bolting? Hell there are no recruits wanting to come here to play this style of bb for this sorry a$$ staff. How many signed with UT in the early signing period? I'll wait for your answer.
