Tennessee was at the forefront of Womens College Basketball, the Hall of Fame is in Knoxville for a reason. Tennessee USED to be an elite program until Holly took over. Womens basketball is all about the top 12 teams and then the elite 4. Holly isn't getting it done, infact I encourage you to look up her record against top 10 teams. Sweet 16s might be a huge accomplishment for MTSU but for Tennessee it should be the bare minimum. So yes she's GARBAGE, if im not mistaken shes never came within 10 points of beating a top 5 team.

I hope you are joking. Have you been watching any of the games this season? Any one with eyes can see that this team looks completely lost on the court and does not seem motivated to play with fire and passion the entire game consistently. Yes, Holly got them to two Elite 8 and a Sweet 16, but believe me it wasn't solely because of her coaching. We had more talent. Go back and watch NCAA Tournament games the last few seasons. We struggled with very high seeds consistently. When we met up with teams with just as much talent, we lost. I supported Holly as long as I could, but Tennessee has become the laughing stock of opposing fan bases and on the recruiting trail. I like Holly as a person, but I don't think she will ever lead Tennessee back to a Final Four or National Championship. This is only a message board. Attendance at games are declining as well. Those are signs of an unhappy fan base. I've watched Missouri, Alabama, Kentucky, Florida and South Carolina and they all look much better than Tennessee. Besides South Carolina, we have way more talent than the others, but I have little to no confidence we would defeat any of them.

ND & Baylor don't attract top talent based upon the past. They get players who EXPECT to have a legitimate shot at reaching the pinnacle...not at finishing 2nd-best in their league and making through a few tournament rounds (while struggling against unranked teams with one win).

As far as CHW's record, it's likely that the winning percentage will continue to drop and the losses will begin to add up. Barring a basketball miracle, her coaching stats will continue to decline along with the lack of recruiting. We're not seeing players improving and being "coached up" (just the opposite, in fact).

CHW doesn't have to be CPS. She just needs to be comparable to other current coaches who have similar talent. One could blame some of past woes on injuries, learning curve, player personalities, etc., but the expiration date on her grace period is expiring fast.

How many years do you think Warlick should be given to demonstrate that she can take TENN back to a Final Four (much less a NC)? Or do you think that isn't a reasonable expectation and that fans should just accept being a "good" team (albeit one whose style of play is really hard to watch for fans who appreciate good team execution of fundamentals)?

The program is way down from what it used to be and it may be acceptable to some people but it will never be acceptable to true Lady Vol fans. We should be a top five team every year if we had a coach that could teach players. The offense is horrible with five McDonald's All Americans on the floor. They have scored 43 against Va. Tech and 58 against a 1 and 5 Wichita State team. This team should be scoring in the 70's every time out and if you look at Holly over her four seasons were always in the fifties and sixties in scoring because don't quick shoot the basketball and get the ball inside regardless of the defense being played is getting old.

Good post. This year's team is a mess and the buck stops at Holly's desk. However, this is the same coach that took a team without some of it's best players to the elite 8 just last season. Considering all the injuries, you might even say they overachieved last season. There's a stark difference in the team's performance this year over last year even though most think we have a more talented team this year. Why the drop off in performance ? There's something else going on with this team other than just poorly coaching an offensive system. Whatever it is, Holly, as the head coach, has fix it and fast.
