I can eat the things by themselves with nothing but a salt shaker for company. And a good ol' tomato sandwich cannot be beat.

When I was growing up we ate "Tommytoes" right out of the garden with salt and nothing else. Nowadays, put some mayonnaise or salad dressing on that bread and slap acouple slices of tomato on there, and you got it going on.

I don't eat the yellow ones, although I suppose they are better for you. I don't eat yellow watermelon either.

Nope. My grandmother wouldn't eat any watermelon but the yellow kind. Said it had "no acid". I didn't even know watermelons HAD acid.

Sure pasta sause, pizza etc is just fine.

But i sure am glad i read this thread, Id never mention that my mother enjoys a "Mader Sandwich" otherwise...Mayo, Mater and bread!

My little vol, eats tommytoes like popcorn.

On another weird note, I've got a cherry tomato plant that jumped straight off of the Little Shop of Horrors screen. It's taking over my whole garden and produces a bag of tomatoes a day that are sweeter and juicier than any tommy-toe you've ever had. My office staff is sure happy!
