Definitely a good episode. I'm guessing Quinn gets a lot closer to Haqqani than most of his CIA buddies think. Did anyone else think that CIA director was an idiot for handing over that asset list? I thought it was completely irrational.
Definitely a mistake, but in light of the circumstances, it would be a difficult decision, especially for a guy like him, who's a politician and not a trained CIA operative, and who also is fairly new to the CIA. I really hated that guy when he originally came on the show; this season, I've started to like him quite a bit. He's pretty straight-forward and is pretty good at calling people out when they need it.
Meh! It's been aired. You shouldn't be reading the thread if you haven't seen the latest episode.
When I saw that I was like "WHAAAT?!"
Dar Adal is up to some shady crap. The CIA director calling Carrie telling her some major shake ups are coming alongside the Dar Adal twist makes me think that maybe people are being put in place for a major US attack that's a long shot theory though. I thought since the first season that Dar Adal was shady and it was hard to tell where his loyalties lie.
I had the same thoughts about Dar Adal. Never trusted him. Now that Quinn has gone solo, like Jack Bauer, I wonder if he makes it out alive.
The only other good option for Dar Adal is that he's working as a double. He is a black ops director so it's an option. Quinn is one of the characters that I actually like who is still fairly grounded despite all he's had to deal with. The preview has him back coordinating with the CIA so I think he's ok in the short term. Do you think the Pakistani chief is still on Carrie's side of things? Is he really trustworthy?
I liked the low key ending, because sometimes this show moves a little too fast for it's own good. Still I have a case of blue balls over certain plot points that will not be settled until next year. Also the mom thing felt like something that belongs in a middle of the season episode, but I do understand why they did it this way (for the Quinn plot point).
I do agree that this might be the best season of the show so far. Outside of season 1 I haven't really enjoyed this show that much, but rebooting like they did has worked. I can get into a whole debate over how they should of handled the Brody storyline (the 24 roots of fast pacing ruined the Brody story), but I will just sit back and enjoy this season. My second favorite show on Showtime behind Masters of Sex.
