Hooker in for Lions on Fox

The Panthers say thanks. 👍🏻
The Panthers have been to twice as many super bowls.

The Titans are the worst franchise in the NFL, so let’s pitch in to make sure they can have a stadium projected to cost what SoFi stadium was projected to cost 5 years ago. A State funded stadium is criminal. Where is the return for our taxpayers?

I’m not even a Titans fan (I’m ambivalent about the NFL as a whole) but I was shaking my head.

Levis was inconsistent at best as QB in college but with an ego worse than players that have ten times his talent. He had flop written all over him.
I felt the same way about Levis. Every game I saw him play in he struggled, looked confused, just nothing there to get excited about, but folks were announcing him to be one of the top rated qb in the draft. Still can't see what everyone else saw in him.

I still don’t understand why they left Houston.
They shoulda’ stayed there.
Houston got wise and wasn't about to build the Adams family a new stadium. Too bad Nashville can't get a clue. I think the National Desk has a news story about the NFL holding citys hostage for a new stadium.

The Titans need to get rid of upper management and start drafting players with Vols ties in abundance. That might help them win some fans here in Middle Tennessee .... I'm definitely not one. Taking Levis over Hooker in the draft was downright stupid.

I remember way back when, they took Jevon Kearse over .... I think it was Leonard Little. Not a way to gain instate loyalty when you draft from our SEC foes.

The team needs to be sold, or it is never going to get better. It's October with a lot of games still to play and the fans are already talking about next year's draft.

I'm no scout. But every time I saw him play in college he was always trying to make some kind of tough guy hero play. Even against Tennessee he ran it up against a couple of defensive tackles toward the end zone and I think omari Thomas whacked him and put him out of the game nearly breaking his fingers.
While toughness is important character trait for a football player. I expected that this guy didn't have the brains to play at the next level.

Giants said hello
At least the Giants have had their time in the sun with multiple super bowls. The Titans/Oilers franchise is among the oldest yet but because of incompetent Adams family ownership has never won a championship and has rarely ever been competitive.

The nfl is in the business of winning and making money. Drafting in state talent doesn’t make a top ten list when taking into consideration a player you’re contemplating drafting. In state loyalty doesn’t win games. Granted, you could argue the titans aren’t in the business of winning either.

I do agree in the aspect of taking Levis. Not BC of the reasons you mention though. I just never thought the guy had it. Was a dumb move considering some other options at the time.

Nashville will get the obligatory Super Bowl (like Nashville needs more tourists), and that will make it all good.

And the NFL gets the lions share of profits from the superbowl. Just having the stadium isnt a guarantee the city will be allowed to host a Superbowl. Nashville will have to cough up probably a 100million more dollars for the "privilege" of hosting a Superbowl.

The cost to host the Super Bowl can vary depending on the city, but it can include:
  • Stadium construction
The cost to build a new stadium can be significant, with taxpayers contributing an average of $250 million.
  • Host committee budget
The host committee is responsible for raising money to help put on the event. For example, the Las Vegas host committee had a $55 million budget for Super Bowl 58.
  • Public tourism agency
The public tourism agency is responsible for a portion of the cost. For example, the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) was responsible for $40 million of the budget for Super Bowl 58.
  • NFL expense reimbursement
The host city may also reimburse the NFL for expenses. For example, Las Vegas paid $17 million to the NFL for expense reimbursement for Super Bowl 58.

Hosting the Super Bowl can also have economic benefits for the host city, including:
  • Increased tourism: The Super Bowl can showcase a city's attractions, culture, and amenities to millions of people.
  • Civic pride: Hosting the Super Bowl can create a sense of civic pride among residents.

However, hosting the Super Bowl doesn't always result in a net gain. For example, after hosting Super Bowl XLII, Glendale, Arizona reported that it spent $3.4 million and earned only $1.2 million in taxes.

Yes, teams are in the business of winning and making money. I have to wonder what the Titans goals are? Winning ..... not working too well. Making money ...... my wife has 2 Titans jerseys, a Henry and a Byard. Neither with the Titans anymore and they both were very good at their positions. Merchandise factors into the money making and if your fan base ain't happy then that avenue isn't profitable either.

For the Adams family it will ensure multi-generational wealth, and that's probably Amy's greatest concern. Which is great for that family, but likely sucks for the fans who want a championship roster

I get it. You might think he should have pulled Goff sooner. The bottom line is he's willing to give Hooker some time regardless
No, I don’t think that. I was joking saying he should’ve, but I don’t care much either way. Was Being facetious.

I mean, I’d like to see him play and do well, but was jokingly inferring that NFL lineups and decisions should revolve around former Vols.
