Needless to say, I was really disappointed at the way things went for HH on Draft Day 1 and Day 2. And was stunned (as were many that the Titans chose Levis over Hooker). I will say that Hooker (and Levis) would not be in a good situation with a rookie OC in Nashville potentially to develop their game in that critical early part of their career. However, Ben Johnson at Detroit is a real rising superstar in the NFL as OC and could be a plus for Hendon, as well as a very very good teammate in Jared Goff who will likely do everything he can to teach and prepare HH to be a solid qb in the league. The clock is ticking however for H and Ben Johnson who will almost certainly get a head coaching opportunity in 25 if his Lions do as everyone is expecting and win a weakened Division this year with an upgraded offense and now improved defense. I do expect that Hendon may get some snaps mid year with injury being so prevalent in the league to starting qbs however. If so, he needs to show out. Good luck to him…..always pulling for the guy. Lions now my favorite NFL team to follow with such a strong Vol presence.
The class Hook showed when the Detroit TV stations Zoomed him to get his response to joining the team when he clearly was somewhat stunned to be drafted so much later than he was led to believe was just typical of the young man. Detroit will fall in love with this guy.
