"Hopson has yet to find his way in the NBA after going undrafted, but there’s no denying that the 6’7” guard has the ability to score. With Dwyane Wade and Mike Miller aging, it’s not impossible that Hopson could find his way onto the Heat’s final roster and actually play some rotation minutes next season. If he can consistently produce this Summer League, it could definitely happen."

NBA Summer League: Scotty Hopson Impresses in Miami Heat's 2nd Game

The Heat need to show the old geezers(Rashard Lewis and Jujuan Howard) the door to make room for Hop.

IMO his biggest hurdle was his TO's and defensive effort. From his numbers so far this summer, it looks like he has worked on both.

His biggest struggle was keeping a level head, when his head was on right he put up some impressive stats. Glad he's finally living his dream.

Glad he played good the second game because the first game I had a chance to watch and he looked horrible especially on defense. He only took 7 shot in game one but he gave up a good 10 points on defense in the 5-6 mins I watched him in the second half.

I hope he makes it. Yea, I know that he took off in some games but in others he was the difference maker. He helped win some big games for us. I wish him the best.

Good for him. I wish him the best of luck if he makes it over there.

It will be fun to watch if he makes it. Just like Arian Foster, Scotty haters will come out of the wood work to claim they always had his back at UT.

I wish Scotty nothing but success however I will hate having a reason to cheer for the Heat.

yeah it was hard enough to cheer for the Bucks and Magic - it would be nice if both (Tobias and Hop) played for Memphis

5 points on 2-6 shooting only played 14 minutes though. 3 turnovers also but has be a plus 3 in +/- when on the floor. If the heat don't pick him up he will def be picked up by someone

It was nice to see he has added some moves off one and two bounces. If he puts up some good numbers internationally this, the hawks or raptors could scoop him up?

If he wants to make the association, he just has to keep grinding.

I could see the Raptors picking him up. Not particularly deep at the SG/SF spot. I'm ready to see what happens with him tho.

Hope the best for Scotty, but I don't see it happening this season. He's too one dimensional, and he's not efficient enough at the one thing he's good at to earn a roster spot in the NBA.

That's actually a pretty fair criticism.

Yeah. I'd hoped to see other parts of his game develop by now. Although my sample size has only been three games of summer league, I'm not seeing it. Maybe he'll get a chance with a lottery team that just needs to fill a roster spot with a cheap rental while they tank this season.
