Hopson Has Chance To Make Heat Roster

12K is possible. A year is only a few months and besides being tax free, a lot of these clubs have an allowance as well as pay for room and board. I'd do it if I loved playing ball haha.

But you're getting payed to play a game. That's what some people want to do.

I see your point. My question is who wants to toil in a foreign country playing extremely low-level pro ball with little to no chance of ever being discovered? Obviously, those people exist, but it seems strange to me.

As for me, I'll take the comforts and security of 'Murica and pay my taxes.

He played in Greece for a couple months, for about $1200-1500 a month. If the season lasted 12 months which it doesn't it would be around $12k a year.

Not sure were you learned math but that would be between $14,400-$18,000. Still seems low, but you went from saying definitively it was 12k a year, to now it possibly being closer to 20k a year...that's a big difference.

I didn't say definitively 12k, and I even mentioned he played in a smaller league than Hopson.

I went to look at his stats lately and it didn't have him listed on the roster for the Toronto game. But, it has him listed as on the team. It didn't have him as a DNP or an injured list. Anyone know what's going on?

That doesn't make sense to me. Drop 20. Barely play the next game. Don't play at all from there.

Just no logic in that coaching style.

It's summer league. They need to fill spots to field a team. Teams will probably never give any consideration to 3/4 of their SL rosters for making a permanent spot, if that. And let's be honest, the Heat are the last team in the league that would have an open spot that could potentially be filled by some bum from summer league.

He had one decent outing. That's not enough.

If I'm a summer league coach, I play every single guy as much as I can. Especially shooters. But eh, I guess I just see Hopson as better than Ian Clark or varnardo would be in the league.

And IIRC he had a 22 point night and a 26 point one. Miami articles were more than talking him up for one "decent" outing.

Pretty sure he only put up 20 once.

Last I checked Miami looked pretty good at the wing spots. Can't recall the names, but I seem to remember their 2 & 3 guys being pretty solid.

Kill it overseas Scotty.

I went to a couple of Vegas summer league games to see Hopson and obviously he wasn't there. Hopefully he can get picked up on a team but his time is passing ....good luck in Turkey
