Hopson...One of Best Ever When He Leaves?

I don't even consider him the best player on the team...he's got a long way to go.

Yes, he was. I don't think I've ever heard the term "good in the locker room" as often as I did around him. Transforming himself into a guy who could fill a bunch of roles, from mentor to shooter to defensive stopper, was a pretty neat trick as well for a 6'5" tweener.
He was a slightly less effective version of Mario Elie. Buckner was the kind of player every good NBA team has a couple of on their roster.

After a season of sitting at home on the Mav's payroll, he's going to try to parlay that role into coaching. Buck is one of the good guys, so I'm hoping it works out for him.

Coaching is paying off for Elie. He'll be an NBA head coach before long.

I think alot of people forget that he's about half way through his sophomore season. He could yet develop quite a bit with his physical and mental toughness. Not saying he will, but it's not a given he won't just because he hasn't shown it yet. A man's gotta grow up sometime. If Hopson does, he definitely could be among the best ever.

As an example outside of basketball, look at what Mike Singletary has done for Vernon Davis. From epic level bust to NFL record setting Pro Bowl player.

I see all this jazz about emotional and physical toughness.. People get physical and he pouts..

To me it boils down to confidence. I honestly believe Hopson has no clue how good he is. As he continues to assert himself, his confidence will grow. He's ridiculously talented. I just don't think he has the faith in himself to take over. Maybe this stretch of games (and hopefully more) will show him otherwise. Either way, I'm a Scotty Hops guy.

To the guy who said he won't be drafted.. wow.

I'll give Scotty some credit, he appears to be figuring it out little-by-little.
