RB Nick Chubb
The Top247 junior running back from Cedartown (Ga.) High School said the Vols made a strong impression on him Saturday while he was in Knoxville for their junior day, and he now views Tennessee as one of his early favorites.
It went real good, Chubb said. It was like I expected. It was very nice nice coaches. They were all over me the whole time. They said Im number one (on their list) that they want.
Ive always liked them. They were my first offer, and that really helped them out that visit, how special it was.
I like what theyre doing down there, Chubb said. Theyre believing, and I really feel that theyre going to win some games and turn things around there.
On offense
They actually had a video set up for how they run the ball, and they put my film in there (to show) how they want to use me in their offense, said Chubb, who also holds offers from Georgia, Alabama, Georgia Tech, Ohio State, Penn State, Vanderbilt, Arkansas, Auburn, Florida State, Michigan State, Notre Dame and Purdue.
They want to put me in the backfield, give me the ball and let me get downhill. And I think a lot of that. Thats what I do now.
On playing time
They said its wide open, he said. They need me to come, and Ive got to work for it, but it would be mine. Its a big deal (to me). Who doesnt want to go play?
On Facilities
It was all nice, he said. I didnt get to see the dorms and all, but they showed the blueprint of it what theyre going to build and they looked nice. It all did (catch my attention), especially the new (indoor facility). Theyve got a cafeteria inside where they eat. Thats real nice. I was surprised how nice it was.
