House Dems about to ask for Trump tax returns

Nice!
Are you a cpa? Real estate investor? Or just super intelligent like me and bham?😂

I use to be a tax preparer. I am also very studious. Of course, I gave an incomplete answer assuming you only had two properties. If you had property C that made about 10k in both the two years, that changes it all. Also if property A or B just happen to be your residence. If one is, then you don't pay capital gains until 500k. Capital gains starts at your basis, not any appraised value, and you of course have to recapture depreciation.

why stop there? Power resides in the massive reach of government agencies - every single key decision maker in each agency. Every key advisor, chief of staff for every elected official.
Truth be told, I'm not sure how far to go, but maybe it's past time to start weeding out government corruption. Start at the top and work down. And for the love of God, it is past time for Congressional term limits to be enacted.

Don't forget the every member of Congress as well part. Republican, Democrat, Independent...it doesn't matter. Every member of Congress.

Does every member of congress have as much power over the government as the president does?

just saying it depends on who you made the claim to and in what form (passing commentary vs attesting to under penalty of law).
Somebody's got their panties in a wad because he inflated his numbers to Forbes.

They seem to be getting the richest while in office.

We need to see those returns. Need to know who’s susceptible to taking lobbyist bribes, amirite??

oh you were being serious - personally I don't think one should be required to divulge all of their personal financial information beyond what is already required.

Trump's being a d!ck but that ain't illegal and his tax returns are irrelevant given the current financial disclosure reporting that he and other leaders are already required to comply with.

Honestly what do you think is being "hidden" in tax returns that isn't in the required financial disclosures and how does that related to "power"?

Wonder how the Clinton's "renting" of stays in the WH to donors showed up on their tax returns?

The fun tax way to sell and buy a property at the same time. Are the properties equal on value, or did all the gains from the sale go into the new property?

All gains went to new. Similar property which actually cost 10k more than the one i sold.

Do you believe there are members of government getting kickbacks? I do. Whether or not they're illegal, I don't know. But maybe we need to start investigating that more. Maybe we really do need to investigate corruption more. These people supposedly work for us, the constituents. If we're going to cry over tax returns and weaponize all this for political purposes, maybe we should just go all the way and investigate every single one of them. If the purpose is to look for dirt, let's look for dirt. But it shouldn't just be one person subjected to this. Put them all under the microscope.
