House Oversight Committee- Biden family money laundering & foreign shakedown thread

You'd have to be a neanderthal to believe that.
That is dumb. Comer hasn't revealed any evidence that Hunter Biden accepted money from a foreign national. He says that the FBI has it - we'll see. And most importantly, they haven't tied anything to Joe. It's just a lot of the same allegations which we've been hearing about for over 2 years.

You know as well as I do that Judas(Biden) is dirty.

I can easily believe that he is guilty of some form of corruption ... but we need more proof than what is currently public. Comer hasn't revealed anything new at all. This was a lot of hype today.

I have one too ... Rosemont Seneca Partners LLC, one of the biden's shell companies is mentioned 8 times in this 2019 article. Imagine that.

Joe Biden’s 2020 Ukrainian nightmare: A closed probe is revived | The Hill
I'm pretty sure that is one of the columns that got opinion writer John Solomon fired by The Hill.

The Hill finds John Solomon 'failed' to identify key details of sources

https://www.cnn.com/2020/02/19/media/the-hill-john-solomon-columns-investigation-results/index.html

Trump was the most corrupt president in American history. He was also rightly impeached twice and would have been thrown out of office
if Republicans had any integrity--but they don't. He was also traitorous in a big way---totally compromised by Putin--a murderous dictator, war criminal AND America's chief adversary--while constantly complaining about our oldest and most important European allies. That's a big, fat fact. He would have pulled America out of NATO if he could have--thankfully, the "deep state" (ha--meaning sane officials in his mostly amateurish administration plus Congress) would never have let that happen. Trump has dreams of being an autocrat himself--he loves dictators, which is just an itsy, bitsy problem for someone who is, you know, U.S. President. It's also because, one can surmise, rich (corrupt) Russians bailed out his property business by buying a lot of condos, and also because he's wanted to put Trump properties in Russia for a long time. He was haranguing his former personal attorney, Michael Cohen, to get a deal done in Moscow right up until the '16 election. Fraudulent self-promotion is the essence of Trump. He's a mobster who should be in prison.
You should change your name to Turboouthouse. Strictly due to you full of 💩

The article I linked was after The Hill added their editor notes or context additions. It did not change what the article described back in 2019 and even discussing shell companies that we are just now understanding the connection to the bidens.

Right ... Shouldn't "evidence" be presented to a grand jury? If a grand jury has been convened?

It's political posturing, strategically timed to coincide with Trump's civil lawsuit verdict.

Frankly, it's a little too obvious with its true purpose to be an effective deflection.

I'm guessing you can't legally have someone else's bank records or the bank's records; so if history holds true, there is obviously "no proof" of wrongdoing, and this can't go to trial. Justice is literally blind and deaf as needed.

Really? Haven’t heard Hallie Biden (widow to Beau) involved until today. Is she taking the fall her dead husband who can’t defend himself? Her name is only recent as of the last month to Chinese payments.

The GOP once again chasing the shiny object, that even if they find will bring them nothing. How many hearings and how much evidence have they presented over the last 6 years? Who has been held to account? A lawyer (Sussman) that was acquitted by a DC jury.

Meanwhile, non-violent J6ers are still being locked up and bankrupted in legal fees. Yet, very few in the GOP go to bat for them.

The GOP seems to be back to where they were pre-Trump in 2014. A lost Party with no direction or vision.

Sometimes I think this forum has gone downhill and then I see a gem like this, a page and a half into this lady telling @McDad what he really thinks and refusing to admit she was wrong.

VN never fails to entertain; and if you can't get your fill of crazy in the political forum, you can always hop into the football section.

That columnist, John Solomon, was cherry-picking facts on Ukraine to better serve his own political agenda. He was trying to smear Joe Biden and the United States Ambassador to the Ukraine, Marie Yovanovitch.

That is still John Solomon's column on Ukraine - and he has zero credibility on the subject. He was fired by The Hill for a reason. He is a Trump-loving, far-right wing, Republican shill, with no integrity. He is just a flat-out liar.

China Paid Trump Millions In Rent. Then He Left The White House

^^^^ Forbes ^^^^

Not exactly a liberal media outlet.

By no means am I defending anything that Biden has done ... but clearly Republicans are expressing selective outrage with regards to accepting money from China. This is too obviously political to have any real impact.

Don't you think the headline should have read that China paid a Trump company millions in rent? So Trump should have divested himself of all his businesses like all the politicians divest themselves of their "investments"? Now, if you are thinking that no politician should have entanglements that influence his/her decisions, then we are getting somewhere ... like somewhere over the rainbow because it ain't happening.

... and he was not cleared for withholding Congressionally-authorized military aid to the Ukraine, so he could use it as leverage against President Zelensky's willingness to make an appearance on CNN and announce that an investigation into the Biden's was being conducted.

Per Former Senator Lamar Alexander's statement on Twitter, Trump had indeed withheld the funds to the Ukraine as a means of pressuring Zelensky into performing this campaign favor for him. Senator Alexander even described Trump's actions as being "wrong." It was Alexander's contention, that it was not an offense worthy of removing him from office, however.
Now do Biden withholding aide from Ukraine to get an investigator fired that was investigating the company that had hired Biden's son. there were also a couple messy ties with China in there. I believe he got two more fired, until they finally got someone to completely drop the case.

https://www.finance.senate.gov/imo/media/doc/HSGAC - Finance Joint Report 2020.09.23.pdf

why would Biden care about the "efficiency" of the investigations, up until the point that they finally dropped the case? Frankly that prosecutor spent less time investigating Burisma than the NY AD and DOJ have with Trump. I didn't see Biden pushing that efficiency as an issue.

Two lines from the article stand out :

1) "They provided no evidence of President Biden's knowledge of the transactions and made no attempt to link the payments to any of his official or unofficial acts as a public servant."

2) "The facts so far suggest that Hunter Biden may have tried to profit off of his famous name, but there is no evidence that his dealings influenced his father's policy decisions or that President Biden ever made any money off of them."

They haven't proven anything new .... Is Hunter Biden unethical and greedy? Sure. Has Joe Biden broken any laws in relation to this? That is still unproven.

Let's get down to the meat and potatoes of this investigation. What possible business does the Biden clan have that warrants millions of dollars in payments to multiple family members, including a grandkid, daughter-in-law, brothers and his sister?

Oh great, more useless hearings.
Not useless, it keeps the masses entertained. Good guys, bad guys, nothing ever done. Frankly Hollywood does it better, the bad guys eventually get karma. Not much happens to politicians except they use their 20 days of fame, elicit outrage then nothing happens. Wash rinse repeat.
