House Oversight Committee- Biden family money laundering & foreign shakedown thread

Let's get down to the meat and potatoes of this investigation. What possible business does the Biden clan have that warrants millions of dollars in payments to multiple family members, including a grandkid, daughter-in-law, brothers and his sister?

You have to be a rube to believe Joe isn't involved. He denied even having met any of his business associates, which was a flat out lie.The same lie led these hypocrites to pursue an investigation against Trump, always asking "Then why did he lie?". Pathetic hypocrites.

Two lines from the article stand out :

1) "They provided no evidence of President Biden's knowledge of the transactions and made no attempt to link the payments to any of his official or unofficial acts as a public servant."

2) "The facts so far suggest that Hunter Biden may have tried to profit off of his famous name, but there is no evidence that his dealings influenced his father's policy decisions or that President Biden ever made any money off of them."

They haven't proven anything new .... Is Hunter Biden unethical and greedy? Sure. Has Joe Biden broken any laws in relation to this? That is still unproven.

On 1. That's a valid point with an exception. When people (at least in the past) are vetted for a security clearance, there's at least some looking into close relatives whose actions might compromise the person being vetted - that should certainly apply to politicians.

On 2. You made a point of a Trump business receiving money for what it does - leasing space - without proof that Trump was being directly paid or influenced. The difference being that Trump's name has been on legitimate businesses for decades (at least if you consider real estate speculation legitimate business) - and a long time before he was elected to office. If you think Trump was unfit to be president, I'd agree; however, that hasn't prevented decades of politicians from holding office.

Didn't they share bank accounts? Hunter and Joe... meaning that any kickbacks that Hunter got from China was also used by Joe. And it already been proven Joe met with , Hunters biz partners. Seems like alot of smoke to just outright dismiss...you gone have a Tru.up harder with even less evidence and verifiably false information.

Now do Biden withholding aide from Ukraine to get an investigator fired that was investigating the company that had hired Biden's son. there were also a couple messy ties with China in there. I believe he got two more fired, until they finally got someone to completely drop the case.

https://www.finance.senate.gov/imo/media/doc/HSGAC - Finance Joint Report 2020.09.23.pdf

why would Biden care about the "efficiency" of the investigations, up until the point that they finally dropped the case? Frankly that prosecutor spent less time investigating Burisma than the NY AD and DOJ have with Trump. I didn't see Biden pushing that efficiency as an issue.
Fact check: Joe Biden leveraged Ukraine aid to oust corrupt prosecutor

^^^^ USA Today (Fact Check) ^^^^

From the article above :

"It's true that Joe Biden leveraged $1 billion aid to persuade Ukraine to oust its top prosecutor, Viktor Shokin, in March 2016. But it wasn't because Shokin was investigating Burisma. It was because Shokin wasn't pursuing corruption among the country's politicians."

and ....

"Burisma Holdings was not under scrutiny at the time Joe Biden called for Shokin to be removed, per the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine, an independent agency that has worked closely with the FBI."

That is dumb. Comer hasn't revealed any evidence that Hunter Biden accepted money from a foreign national. He says that the FBI has it - we'll see. And most importantly, they haven't tied anything to Joe. It's just a lot of the same allegations which we've been hearing about for over 2 years.

I remember one of you guys…. Maybe it was you….. talking about how Trump learned to talk on the phone by a mob lawyer. Biden served in Congress in the 80s with some of the most flamboyantly brazen crooks in the history of this country on both sides of the aisle. I wonder if he might have received some expert instruction on grifting without it being tied to him. Also I just saw you mention that Hunter was corrupt and greedy but Joe claims he’s the most honest person he knows. Is Joe lying or a bad judge of character when it comes to his sons dealings that may have compromised national security? Whether liar or bad judge of character….he’s not fit to be President.

I will say it again ....

As someone who used to fill them out regularly, a lot of (mostly benign) activity falls under the scope of an SAR. I'm seeing a lot of Republicans running with that "170 Suspicious Activity Reports" like it's a big deal. It's usually nothing more than someone making multiple cash deposits in a single day (structuring) ... or depositing/withdrawing cash over $10K.

BB85, which one are you on this small lunatic scale showing ppl going nuts about Biden?

1) There was no such evidence presented.

2) Kim Dotcom? Isn't that the guy who was pushing the "Seth Rich was murdered by the DNC," so hard? What do you think you accomplish by posting tweets from these crackpots?

LOL ... at crackpots. It seems to trigger you pretty well.

I'm guessing you can't legally have someone else's bank records or the bank's records; so if history holds true, there is obviously "no proof" of wrongdoing, and this can't go to trial. Justice is literally blind and deaf as needed.

Maybe they can if they are investigating money laundering.

Oh great, more useless hearings.
I’d love to see a chart of time spent on hearings like this vs time spent making policy. I’m going 95/5. Of course there are other things they do too but nothing productive.

No, Trump's always been a racist....There was the infamous 1989 rape/assault case in Central Park. Five black teenagers were arrested for the crime, and trump ranted for days/weeks about how they should be hanged, etc. The teens were convicted, served 6+ years in prison and then it was discovered that the cops had got it wrong. Trump is about fraudulently promoting Trump--that's always been his reason for being. Pathological narcissist; pathologically dishonest. This is a man who put up fake Time magazine covers, with himself on the cover, in one of his golf clubs. He took money from some charity he set up to commission a huge portrait of himself. He's a con man and a gangster. He would have been a Democrat had the party or its voters wanted him. Ha, ha, ha. If you want one big difference between Democratic voters and Republicans, it's that Democrats have always been appalled by trump and fully recognize what a scumbag he is, whereas the GOP rednecks love him. His racism/white supremacist/anti-immigrant views are real; the rest is just an act for the base. He's done. GOP voters can now turn to DeSantis--the Trump Mini Me, literally.
LOL

Considering that 9 times out of 10, when Congress „makes policy“, we all end up getting scr*wed, I do not complain too much when Congress finds ways to otherwise simply waste time

Joe knows his youngest son had sex with his dead’s sons wife. So not sure Joe knows good judge of character. And the fact Beaus wife is part of this Chinese payment, does that also mean his dead son Beau was part of it but the republicans are showing some sensitivity.

Let’s let Joe figure out where Beau actually died and then maybe we can count on him to be forthright.
