House Plants

Yeah, same thing. We actually call it "Debbie" after my Ma-in-law. Snake Plant is easier to type.

I'm expecting that Philodendron one to grow. That's why I put it so high up on a book case. I've always liked Ivy on a brick building, so I want to create a similar effect.

Did you change your member name?

Too bad, I was looking forward to reading about your "challenges."

Somehow my wife must have read your new dog thread because she's been harping about getting one the past few days.

Well after 2 days with the pup, she REALLY wants one of her own. I guess there goes that theory of mine. LOL

A couple little guys. No idea on the names. If you know, I'd be much obliged.

The pothos plant on the right is axactly what I have and it is recognized as a great air filter. I have been very pleased with it (staying alive).

Epipremnum aureum - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The plants I've had in my other pot (I've had 2 in the past 6 months) just can't seem to stay alive. The first one was some kind of lily with red blooms (the house lillies were also recognized as good home air filters) and the one I have now seems to be browning up on me already. :cray:

Yeah. I've stayed away from anything that blooms. I'm still a novice.

BTW, love your Av. It's the painting Mrs. Scorsese had done in Goodfellas, right?

Bump.

Had a few of my beloved plants die on the move to AZ, and almost lost the huge fan palm, but it pulled through. Added a few to my collection, as well.

The best benefit of houseplants, that no one seems to talk about is the clean air. My house always smells good and I feel like I sleep and breathe better. I put my two best air-purifying plants in the bedroom.

We have two ivy plants sitting on the window sill in the kitchen, one fern on the shelf under the fish tank, two bamboo plants on the fireplace mantel, one bonsai tree on the decorative table by the couch, and one spring flower plant sitting on the window sill in the living room. Oh and there's an ivy plant downstairs by the door. 4 of our plants are actually rescues from walmart. They were dying, so I brought them home.
