@NeylandNews: "Spoke with Curt Maggitt (starting LB) about a week ago and he confirmed that he will not be playing this upcoming season due to numerous injuries. Send him some love here and lets hope for a speedy recovery. Go Vols."

Does anyone know if this service is accurate enough to warrant my immediate panick?

I'll hang up and listen. Go Vols.

Who cares? If he's hurt, then next man up. If he's not, then if he earns it let him play.

Side note- he's been hurt every year so regardless if he is healthy now, his history says that he is injury prone.

Short history. I don't think it's fair to start drawing conclusions off of two years.

No offense but I care. He's a monster when healthy and he plays a position that has zero depth on this team.

I've never heard of Neyland News, and it's March, so I don't think we can be making any definitive statements about Maggitt and the upcoming season.

It seems like if he found this out a week ago, the news would have leaked already.

This. I could definitely see him being held out of spring practices since he had an ACL injury in the fall.. But to say he's definitely out for the upcoming season is a bit of a stretch to me.. I'd want to see this news from a reputable media source before assuming it's true.

He has a Facebook page that looks like a cut and paste job.

Don't think he would be the first to break this kind of news.

I don't plan to panic untill a more reliable source comes forth. :hi:

Geez dude simmer down man. Its not like he is being a wuss and not playing. If he's hurt and can't play it is what it is. I'm not one for babying but geez. I'm sure the coaches and him will assess the situation and make the right call.

Btw - LBs is struggling depth wise so ur approach is just ridiculous. Wish this isn't true cause he's one of our most talented on a position of need.

How is what I posted ridiculous? If he is hurt, is it not next man up? Dooley created excuses for this team. If anybody gets hurt, it's next man up.

Also, if he has been hurt his first two years that seems like a good history to base my decision. He is injury prone, unless he proves otherwise.

Lastly, what good does it do to worry. We don't coach them, we don't know them. He would be a loss, but back to my original point next man up. I don't freak out as you do. I view things as a realist would.

I remember that Austin Kemp and also Kevin Simon had three seasons of injuries but their senior seasons, they played injury free.

Worse case scenerio, is that Curt will medical red shirt and be given an additional season.... and Harris or someone else will fill in for him, which will give us more experience in the linebacking corps when Curt does return in 2014...

If he really needs the year to get fully healthy, give it to him and get a medical redshirt for the kid. Rushing to come back next season is not worth potentially damaging his long term career options.

We dont have a next man up around here, we are thin at linebackers and nearly ever where else.

I believe he would still have a regular redshirt available
