How accurate is "Neyland News"? (Curt Maggitt)

Surely this is just regarding the spring, and not the upcoming season. Unless he has a major illness(think Lofton) that is not being discussed, there are not many injuries that would keep him out a full year.

This isn't Bama we don't have 6 five stars waiting to take his place. Idiot.

Then I guess our 3 stars must be the next man up. Not many schools are Bama right now. There is still no need to panic. We have LBs, just not as many as you would like. I don't worry because with the right staff they will figure it out.

Oh I forgot the idiot comment. I guess you win. I mean you are smart enough to spell idiot right. If I call you a moron does that trump your idiot because mine has two syllables?

Short history. I don't think it's fair to start drawing conclusions off of two years.

Really? If you buy a new car and it breaks down multiple times in the first two years, are you not willing to say it's a lemon? I know a person and a car are totally different, but the same logic applies to both!

Neyland news is a profile some young uninformed moron made on facebook. His info is garbage. Maggitt is out for spring, not the season.

He is talking about quality depth.

I think it was poor coaching the last few years. I mean the majority of our backers were 3 to 4 stars. You should be able to find three. Everybody's backup are as good as the starters. So our backups will just have to improve. It will be alright.

Who cares? If he's hurt, then next man up. If he's not, then if he earns it let him play.

Side note- he's been hurt every year so regardless if he is healthy now, his history says that he is injury prone.

Who Cares? Next man up for us in the LB corp. could mean having open tryouts or finding a drunken butt chugger who played a little ball in HS.

Who care!? It's this kind of attitude that will cost us good recruits. I fear too many Vols fans think of our players are just trained monkeys existing purely for our entertainment and cast aside when their time is up, they get injured etc. Well smokey, Herman Lathers was injury prone and cancer ridden. But he went on that field and laid it all on the line for our Vols. I guess that's another "who care?" in your book. Disgusting! :eek:hmy:

Neyland News mostly parrots information from other sites. In fact, he's been in a bit of trouble over it based on what I've seen him say before, i.e. cease and desist letters. I can't imagine the coaches would have already ruled him out for anything short of a ligament tear. I would be willing to guess that he may miss the spring while trying to sort out the turf toe and other issues, but they wouldn't scrap him for fall yet. You constantly evaluate players health, so they would obviously give him the summer to rehab and see if he can get there. All in all, I think this "news" is really just off-season talk from a fan-boy with a website.

How is what I posted ridiculous? If he is hurt, is it not next man up? Dooley created excuses for this team. If anybody gets hurt, it's next man up.

Also, if he has been hurt his first two years that seems like a good history to base my decision. He is injury prone, unless he proves otherwise.

Lastly, what good does it do to worry. We don't coach them, we don't know them. He would be a loss, but back to my original point next man up. I don't freak out as you do. I view things as a realist would.

I understand the concept of the next guy up but ur "who cares?" comment makes it sound like these kids are just disposable. Doesn't work like that and our quality depth at LB isn't something to feel comfortable about so nonchalantly. If u think that losing one the most experienced LB and its a "who cares?" moment ur nutz.

Dooley wasn't making up excuses as much as explaining cause and effect. If all that was over ur head that's fine but u better "redneckanize" that it is.

Fun fact: Neyland News took down his silly uninformed post from Facebook, proving that this was a misinformed attempt to look like he has something resembling inside information.

Ive heard he's def out for spring, and the season is possible to miss as well. His ACL recovery is going slower than the training staff would like.

Anything is possible, we'll find out in a few months

Geez dude simmer down man. Its not like he is being a wuss and not playing. If he's hurt and can't play it is what it is. I'm not one for babying but geez. I'm sure the coaches and him will assess the situation and make the right call.

Btw - LBs is struggling depth wise so ur approach is just ridiculous. Wish this isn't true cause he's one of our most talented on a position of need.

Agreed. He is a very good player in a position of need.

Edit:I just realized I agreed with Oskie. The apocalypse is soon.:loco:

You think dooley telling the media that we lost to LSU in a killing because that's just what happens when you have less talent or you are younger is not an excuse? Every time we lost it was the inexperience excuse (no he wasn't explaining the truth brother). Sumlin could have used that card at A&M. You know, his qb was a red shirt freshmen so they were inexperienced. They had less talent than Bammer but they won. With a 3-star qb for that matter.
I stated earlier, he is a loss. I wish the kid could stay healthy but you guys have got to calm down. If he is hurt, it hurts the team. It doesn't hurt me, cause I am just a fan. I am not freaking out like you guys, because the coaches get paid to fix the problem. If that's moving a safety, then let them.
My who cares comment, was just meant that I'm not worried about it affecting our team because the coaches will handle it. Much like when Meyer has a kid get hurt and you just assume he will make the proper changes to fix it.
