How close is too close?

Complete non issue, people have a right to do what they want where they want in this country without being hassled by the gov't.

In no way do we want gov't determining when and where a religious establishment can be erected.

If you want to voice your opinion about the matter and be angry...... guess what.... we have that beautiful freedom to do so!

Place a Nativity Scene beside it.

I'd be willing to bet, Obama would comment on the wisdom of it.

The proposed mosque/cultural center would not actually be at Ground Zero, it would be 2 blocks away.

How close is too close? 5 blocks (half mile)? 10 blocks (a mile)? 5 miles?

If it were up to you, what would be the outer limit for something that offends the sensibilities of most in the community?

How close would be too close for a KKK "activity center" to the Lorraine Hotel in Memphis?

You're equating a hate group with an entire religion?

Wow.

Until the "moderates" break all ties with the "radicals" and join the rest of the civilized world in openly, consistently, and strongly condemning/opposing them... YES.

The guy in charge of this made statements following 9/11 that America had brought it on itself... IOW's, he was rationalizing the terrorism or at a minimum sympathizing with the terrorists.

FTR, a significant portion of this religions IS a hate group. It is the MINORITY of Muslim dominated countries that respect the rights of other religions and women. Even in a "moderate" Islamic country like Egypt, the Voice of Martyrs reports that authorities turn a blind eye to Muslim violence against women and Christians.

Would you hold guiltless those who did not participate in lynchings but actively or passively through silence supported those who did?

Keeping their heads on their shoulders is more important to most that are quiet.

I'm so proud to have served this great nation to protect people's rights to be ignorant and shut under a rock.

Seriously.

And Christians above both. Do you really want to add up the numbers?

Go ahead since you've opened that can of worms. Please cite direct and accurate accounting of "Christian" numbers higher than "both"... but be specific because I suspect that we will find CHRISTIANS standing up in opposition to the killing.

Then they're a religion of thugs and cowards?

Are you seriously contending that Christians would not do all they could to stop those committing terrorist acts in the name of Christianity?

no they would just say they're not Christians and be done with it

Maybe they should get rid of this place too. Its about two block from Ground Zero.

Alfanoose Restaurant, Middle Eastern Food - Best Falafel Since 2000! Home

clearly you missed the word "noose" hidden in the restaurant's name

What timeframe in history are we going to refer to in a vain attempt to bolster your case?
