How concerned should we be...

Read the article..

Jones is ranked No. 4 in USA Today’s newly released salary database. However, as the newspaper points out in the notes, Jones’ total compensation of $4.86 million includes a one-time signing bonus of $500,000 and $1.4 million to be used as a buyout of his contract at Cincinnati.

Jones’ normal base salary of $2.95 million
would put him at 18th in the nation, below Nebraska’s Bo Pellini and above Kansas State’s Bill Snyder.

You mean the true freshman people were calling for 2 games into the season?

This isn't directed at you alone but I see this posted all the time. The true freshman 90% of everyone wanted was Fergs, not Dobbs. Fergs due to the practice/media reports, rumours, etc. So no, we didn't get to see the true freshman everyone wanted to see. Sure there were a few calling for Dobbs instead but if you'll remember their posts they admitted they were rooting for Dobbs just to spite the Ferganites™. :hi:

about UGA?

No one has talked much about them. From their remaining schedule, they could possibly lose only 2 more games.

Could they be a dark horse?

I would be just as concerned about Arkansas, Alabama, and Texas A&M. All three may be looking for a new coach after this season.

Not scientific, but that's not the way I recall the battle cry at the beginning of the season. My memory was a very vocal group calling for Dobbs before the season started and it got even louder when the O struggled. Fergy did have his supporters, but not as many as Dobbs. Again, my memory only so you could prove me wrong.

Do you not agree though that CBJ is much higher on the compensation scale along with a hefty buy out clause vs CCM such that there are fewer schools that could afford CBJ vs CCM?

Would you also not agree that at this time CCM's attractiveness as a coach is tracking down whereas CBJ is headed up after the recent recruiting class? CCM was probably more appealing after his 1st year at UT vs today.

I agree, however as I said in my OP my post was solely discussing how both appeared after year 1.

georgia with a 1 point win over ole miss today and the stadium was packed. it's good to see basketball have that type of support. was that one of the games games we might lose on our schedule you mentioned? as someone else said this is on the road at tennessee and you guys must be a tough out in your place. i don't see us winning the game, but i hope it's just competitive from a Georgia perspective. right now the vols are .500 in the sec i would say ever game you guys play should be a concern right now.
