How do we win in Afghanistan?

#1. Bring back napalm. Catch a group in the open launch birds with 'em wing to wing.
#2. Bring back a Project Phoenix clandestine plan. Small cell teams assassinate every Taliban official, their moms, dads, grandmas, and grandpas they can find anywhere on the globe. If they're in a flat in Paris for example, make it splatter city. If they're in Rawalpindi, so much the better.
#3. Eff the lawyers, go totally black. Kill everybody that needs it that are Taliban.
#4. Let the UAE Princes know, they keep supporting those guys, we work on their axxes next month. They have 30 days to cut ties.
#5. Get medieval on Iran black ops guys, take the $#@!ing gloves off. That's where Bin Laden's son is, make him and those around him an example.
#6. Tell Paki ISI, they get on board to eliminate the Taliban or we start working with Indian intel groups and cut them off as agents of the PRC.

Reassess in 6 months, up agressiveness where necessary and adjust the kill list accordingly. War is about making the other person hurt so badly they just don't want to do it anymore. Make the Taliban hurt wherever whenever they are available. We have too many eggheads, lawyers, and monks running things, we need ruthless deathstalkers.

Just my opinion.

Russia Announces Taliban’s Demands for U.S.

Afghanistan’s Taliban will negotiate with the central government in Kabul only after the United States agrees to leave the country, according to a senior Russian diplomat.

Zamir Kabulov, Russia’s special envoy for Afghanistan, announced the Taliban’s demands on Monday after hosting an international summit on the country’s crisis that was attended by other members of a security bloc led by Russia and China. The Taliban want the United States to undertake a number of “confidence-building measures,” starting with a deadline for a full withdrawal from the country.

“[They] said they will be ready to speak with the Afghan government only after fixing a timetable for the withdrawal of all foreign troops from Afghanistan with the U.S.,” Kabulov said, per TASS, a state-run outlet. “As confidence-building measures under a preliminary plan, the Taliban demand that all political prisoners be freed and anti-Taliban sanctions, which were imposed back in 1997, be lifted.”

That ultimatum followed an international conference in Moscow, the first in which the Taliban has participated. The United States attended in an observer capacity, while the Kabul sent members of a government-appointed Peace Council.

Would be cheaper and more efficient then what we are doing now. Problem would be blowback at the first mistake made.

You're a madman.

Winning by complete annihilation of the enemy state, which declared to never stop attacking US citizens and installations, abroad and domestic.

That's not thoughts of a madman. It is being effective.

Problem is we aren't fighting a nation state here.

Understood. Let me rephrase, defeating that ideaology is no easy task. Evidence points to that prior to US involvement. Taking a page from Patton's field tactics may be what's needed. They've tried just about everything else.

In a few months, we're going to have enlisted men that weren't even born when 9/11 happened.

How many more decades of bombing, blood and treasure do we need to waste over there?
Just nuke the F-ing place then like we should have done in Nov 2001. Problem solved in less than 24 hours. Better?

I'm all for using as much ordnance as possible over there for job security sake, but we aint gonna defeat that ideology with force IMO.

No but we can sanitize the ground the ideology exists on and drive down the price of silica glass world wide without ever risking a soldier or airman.

Nope. Agreed. You cannot kill an idea or thought. But you can damn sure kill the “thinkers” in the immediate vicinity!
We've already killed a ton over the past 17+ years. We have Fubar'd that place for nearly 20 years, time to move on and let whatever happens over there in that shithole happen. JMO

We need to build a damn wall around that **** hole area with machine gun towers at 100 yard intervals. THATS the wall we need.

It was unwinable from the first pair of boots on the ground. But none the less there had to be some form of physical response. I wish we had just gone Sherman scorched earth, withdrew, and F the whole hearts and minds campaign.

IMO, it will require means that that will jeopardize foreign relations across the globe and here at home.
