does this put us in a bad light with some recruits and their parents, coaches, and circle of influence? Not trying to point my finger at Dooley or Hamilton but there seems to be a lack of institutional control to me. Not trying to be a negavol, but it worries me. Thanks in advance.

Lack of institutional control? Terrible reach.

Events like this negatively affect every single aspect of our football program. Thats all there is to it.

Lack of institutional control implies that there is cheating going on. The coaches can't babysit every player every night. Besides, most of the coaches are on vacation right now anyway

I'd say its pretty much on the players.

I just dont understand 18,19,20 year olds drinking, assaulting people and resisting arrest at 2 am displays anything that would resemble having your players and coaches on the same page. That said, I think Myles needs to go.

We have a lot of arrests left before we catch other teams in our own division, i.e. Florida and South Carolina.

Lack of Institutional Control has zero to do with college kids getting in bar fights.

That said, this will definitely be used against them in recruiting and yes, it will probably have a negative affect or at least off-set the advantage Tennessee may have had when recruiting against a school with similar recent incidents.

I hope i am not overreacting. But it seem's to me that there is some bad karma or energy around the football team. They take a giant step forward and then BOOM! A giant step back.I have faith in coach Dooley. But we get some good momentum going and something like this happens.

For a coaches salary of 2-5 million dollars per year there should be a system in place to know where every player is at all time... This is checkers not chess ....

I'm sick of that lame a$$ excuse...

not going to matter much, we are going after 2 and 3 star players anyway. we might as well face it we are down for along time.

The only good thing is it's a long time 'til signing day. People have extremely short memories...ask any politician.

The incident won't hurt them. On the other hand, Dooley's response to all this will be the key.

it wont hurt them. 7-10 players try to beat a cop to death in the street, and it wont hurt them. the only good news out of this is that we were going to suck this year anyway. maybe he can get the thugs out of knoxville

It simply joins the fray as another blurb in a rather long laundry list of things other coaches can use against us in recruiting.

Right now we can basically pitch playing time and we can throw in a Peyton Manning or Eric Berry reference or two. Beyond that, schools can grill us on account of our recent lack of success on the football field, an unproven coaching staff, and ability to land more players in the slammer than the NFL.

You just don't hear about this stuff with the Lady Vols....at least not while they're in school. Pat would never tolerate this crap and her players know it. We need that kind of fear in our football and basketball programs.

I could care less about what other schools have had happen. This happened to our school along with the pellet gun robbery, the basketvols new year cruise, DMJ already being arrested this year, Oliver stealing shirts, plus the accusations of the illegal recruiting of Miller and Willis. All in the span of one year. It just gets to the point where it is just flat our embarrasing for this University.
