how does the bar fight/arrests affect recruiting?

I personally dont want players who come from homes with no discipline and structure as much as I dont want those who come from homes with their heads in the sand. Both sides bring problems of their own..Hopefully CDD will create a healthy environment for kids to mature.

If they're talented, I don't care if they were raised by Jabba the Hutt or G.G. Allin.

Edwards, Nu'Keese, James Banks, Morley, Myles, etc etc were all talented.... We need talent, but if we have learned anything over the past decade it is that talent can no longer be the only factor when evaluating recruits

Please. Morley sucked. Some guys make mistakes. There's absolutely no way to decipher who will make said mistake(s). The coach is getting paid to win. How does one win? By having the best players coupled with good coaching. Period.

Fedora Morley was one of the best athletes on UT's campus in the last 10 years. He did not remotely suck. He may have rivaled Travis Henry for lowest IQ of a Vol starter, but if he had a better attitude he would have been an All American.

Which is why Miami chose to recruit Kenny Phillips instead? Plenty of knuckleheads are listed on the payroll of NFL teams. Morley just wasn't good enough.

My take on the post question is that what CDD does on the backside will only strengthen his ability to recruit athletes with strong character.
Players used to having the rules bent for them will not like what happened but players/families with an emphasis on character won't have a problem.
