Try about 9 attempts per game. 103 attempts for the 1st and 2nd team qb, in 12 games.
And it's gonna be a read option offense, like Cincy.
Heard Ainge discuss this this morning. He actually that there are many variations of the spread and that Tennessee WILL NOT RUN THE READ OPTION SPREAD. He says they use the word Spread only in terms of using the entire field.... has more to do with alignment, not really philosophy. Not in terms of the qb consistently being a part of the running game because he's reading the end/olb to decide whether to give or keep the football.
Said it will be prostyle, getting players in space and that qb will need to be really athletic only in terms of moving the pocket to throw the ball, not because he's gonna run the style Urban ran with Tebow or Kelly ran with Oregon qb.
Said the focus will be on pace of play, no huddle, running as many plays as possible and not letting the defense substitute personnel.
Here's maybe a little insight from some CBJ quotes....
Jones came up the ranks as an offensive assistant, and he runs a fast-paced offense that most identify as a "spread" attack.
"I dont like to use that term," he said, "because I think the word finesse is associated with it."
The offense will be physical, not gimmicky, he said.
"Were going to be a team that takes care of the football," Jones said. "Were going to run a no-huddle offense. Were going to be a physical style of offense and be a pro-style offense."
