They played UGA close last year too and got blasted by huep. They also played UGA close after their bye week. Kentucky played us close after their bye week. We had a glorified scrimmage last week while they left everything on the field. VOLS by fiddy. It's not our offense I'm concerned about. Our corners are awful, and Cook is a good runner. They played well against Georgia. They are better than Kentucky and we struggled a bit with them. On top of that we've been performing poorly on the road.
Big plays given up while playing loose coverageBut it actually doesn't undermine your pass rush because u can still fool QB's and take away pass lanes. That helped in creating turnovers last week. The chunk plays is exactly what beat us. Bama didn't get going until they hit that deep ball. You can csll it busted coverage or whatever, it still happened. That opened their entire offense. That changes everything on defense once u give up an explosive. There are pro's and cons to every coverage. U can get up and press to give your pass rush a chance to get home but it only takes 1 guy to get a good release and it's a bomb TD everytime. It makes more logical sense to force an offense to make play after play with no mistakes.

The WR's ain't killing us its the RBBig plays given up while playing loose coverage
Yeah it does hurt. This is pretty fundamental stuff. If you get quick completions then you beat pressure. The tighter you cover the longer the rush has to get home- coverage sacks. This is especially true when the Vols only rush 4. Why give such big cushions dropping 7? That’s an uncontested layup
There are risks of big plays but that has not hurt UT so far when they play tighter.
