i don't understand why we don't kick players off the team forever if they violate any kind of drug policy. That seems so easy and precise. I'm not talking about the Coker thing at all, because its apparently not "apparent" what the deal is. But just in general, why not just run a clean program where everyone understands that drugs=kicked off the team?

I'm thinking the Mary Jane juice will be worked out of his system by the Florida game...

This is Coker's 3rd offense and this time its for weed. From what I have read he has had problems with a pain killer addiction also. I wish this kid the best because he needs to get some help before it goes too far. One more time though and he's gone that's for sure.

Marijuana isnt an addicting drug though. You may want it and have trouble puting it down because you want it, but its not physically addictive.

That's not true. It's less addictive than most drugs or alcohol, but it is somewhat physically addictive.

How can you suspend him until the Florida game and not look like you are a chump? You would be pulling a total Urban Meyer. I say one game ... or 3 if the offense warrants it.

That's false. Marijuana is not at all physically addictive. The only way it is is "addictive" is mentally.

This was in the TimesFree this morning...
Coker's indefinite suspension figures to last until at least Aug. 20, since UT athletic director Mike Hamilton is in Europe with the men's basketball team.

Doesn't mean it couldn't be longer, but clearly no sooner.

Atleast there is some sort of time frame we can go by now. Probably will a little after that though.

i'm going to say one for now......don't know any additional information, but m logic is this......Cal is a big game to start off the year, if he has done everything to CPF's satisfaction, then he sits the one BIG game, and is back for hte rest of the season.

then it is at least you don't have the coversation of "well he was suspended for the ULL game, but was back for Florida" like FL had with Thomas last season missing hte WKU game, but being reinstated for the TN game......just my thoughts.....
