How many more commitments do we take

Nobody can say how many more commits they'll take. They can take as many as they want to take and it's obvious they are continuing to recruit a lot of guys they view as difference makers. Another thing that I like about this is it tells the current commits, that if you start taking other visits, you are doing so at the risk of losing your spot. It's great to have a coach that is always ahead of the curve when it comes to recruiting.

Some how I don't think PW is worried too much. :)

How many more threads like this one will we have till NSD?

There's a formula to determine that. I'm not going to get into the specifics, but the answer is invariably much greater than one would anticipate.

A safe rule of thumb is 1.7X the number of days remaining before NSD. So, there are 125 days before the signing date...multiply that times 1.7. The result is 212 more threads.

I don't think your formula takes into account the multiplier increase when one of the following events happens:

1. We get a new commitment for this class.

2. We get new prospects to agree to an OV.

3. A coach of a rival team gets put on the "hot seat" or gets fired.

4. We get closer to NSD.

We will have 26 or 27 on our commit list on signing day contrary to what Leb says.

We can sign 24 on signing day but the VQ staff has already said look for a 2 or 3 players to GS or Blue Shirt this year. I could see Lovingwood and Bruce being in that category.

So I think we still have at least 2 more spots and we will certainly lose a couple more as VQ keeps hinting at Jackson and Ford getting constant attention. Also mentioned Reid as someone looking around and I'm sure there will be more lower rated guys that see some big-timers coming in that makes them reconsider (Miller)?

This leads me to believe that we will have about 5 or 6 new names on the commitment list by signing day.

This would be my projected class right now if I had to pick.

2 - Jennings - 4*

I agree...I was just trying to provide the basic multiplier without getting into the actual logarithmic equation. I'll provide that on Saturday after I've had my 12th beer. The calculations just seem to flow better...

I quit guessing. Recruiting has always been a rollercoaster. This year's version is filled with thrills, yet scary as hell as well. I'm torn between wanting it to end and not wanting it to end. An old man's heart can only take so much.

How many o linemen should we take on? With Richmond possibly sticking OMiss, that leaves 4 . Just wondering thanks.

I think we should take as many as will come. Even if that means asking some young men to look elsewhere who are already committed at other positions. If we get 7 or 8 guys who are takes and interested, let them come.

The question is how many get flipped on us after a 4 or 5 win season.....
I don't think many.. Most of them knew this is a rebuilding job. Still is at this point. Everyone got the false hope going after feeling good about some moral victories. We're still about where most projected us to be.

We need more OL. We only have 4 committed and one has a serious injury. So really only 3

I understand an Achilles injury can be a pretty tough thing for a lineman to overcome, but VN is making a premature mountain out of a molehill when it comes to Chance Hall. He is going to have two years to recover, plus a year in Lawson's strength program and rehab at UT. Not to mention he will redshirt.
