Is it impossible to think we could win out in sec? (Just curious)

I'm no basketball guru obviously but I'd think we would need 2 wins to secure NCAA play

Have to win at least 1, because losing Thursday to SC or MSU would be horrible. There is no way we should lose to either of those teams.

Exactly. Folks saying we're already in the NCAA tourney aren't taking into account how profoundly our game 1 opponent sucks-- and how eagerly the NCAA would eliminate us if we lost just to make their choices easier.

I voted 1 win, but only if we have a very close loss to Bama. Beat Bama, and it should take a bunch of upsets by lousy teams in conferences with a good team that's a lock to keep us out.

Personally, though, since we're 2-1 against Bama & UF, 2-1 against our likeliest opponents in the Finals, Missouri and Kentucky, and playing in Nashville is more a Home than Neutral Site game, I think we've got a serious shot at the automatic bid.

i know. i know, but his track record of predicting teams is just too good to dismiss.

It's actually not the best. and as I've mentioned a couple times, it's his final brackets he's judged on. He always changed his final bracket a couple times (may get some inside knowledge) and THAT bracket is almost always dead on or 1 off. As far as predicting right now, he's no more accurate than palm or any o the other guys

Eesh, I hate that MTSU lost. I can't imagine, looking at blind resumes, that the committee leaves them out. 19-1 in conference, and a top 25 RPI (I think, not sure about their RPI), I think they are in. One less bid. We need to beat Bama's ass like they stole from us!!!

Sometimes I wonder if it wouldn't be better to just barely miss the Big Dance this year. That'd give next year's version of the Vols the incentive to get off to a good start for a change and kick ass throughout the season.

You'd be wrong. We need to get in.

Eh wouldn't be much of a blind resume everyone would know who that is lol

Fwiw Lunardi and palm both say they're not an at large team

We have to win at least one to have a chance. If we lose to (USC/MSU) that would be a horrible loss to overcome. IF we win two I believe UT will be a lock for the tournament.

UT was put in a really good part of the bracket. I believe UT will beat either SC/MSU and then Bama to get to the Semis.

Count me in that group.

UT can just win the SECT and shut up the experts. Don't give the committee a chance to screw UT. Even if they should get in after 2 wins.

Technically you are correct.

Who the hell knows what the selection committee will do. It's different every year. Being on the bubble is a very dangerous place
