One tweek that I hope they make next year is that the visiting teams be offered 20% of the tickets of the host stadiums seating capacity.
The visiting schools then need to sell those tickets directly to their fan base and not turn them over to Ticketmaster to sell.
Would really cut down on the secondary market stuff and keep scalpers from raising the prices so high.
If we hosted a CFP game and gave 21,000 seats to the visiting school this board would implode.

Obviously, we will have the one big cluster in the end zone where our 3500 allotment will sit.
The question then is how many others will be scattered throughout the stadium.
I maintain that it might be difficult to ascertain even if ABC deploys a blimp for overhead shots.
The reason for that is the expected seventeen degrees at gametime.
TOSU has called for a “Scarlett out”. But how many of their fans own heavy Scarlett overcoats.
And how many Vol fans own heavy Orange 🍊 overcoats.
So it may be noise after big plays that will be a truer reflection on the percentage. Just my .02

Ticketmaster isn't the only place to sell tickets. StubHub, SeatGeek, TickPick, etc. People are always going to find ways to sell tickets if they want.

Visiting teams only get 5,000 tickets during the season (SEC at least). Why the f*** would you want 20% of the visiting fanbase in your stadium? That's straight idiotic.

Because the week isn’t even over yet, and Tenn fans are still buying tickets. Ohio State fans are selling theirs to our fans still, and there are still a lot of empty seats to be filled. It isn’t over yet.

I think that the visiting teams that make the playoffs deserve to have that many fans at their playoff game.
The seeding by the committee is so arbitrary. You could argue this year that the visiting 9-12 teams did as much or more than did the 5-8 teams. Plus a 20 percent visitors ratio makes it a little closer to a neutral field (which I prefer in the playoffs).
Also helps the local hotels and restaurants.

The whole point of the first round isn’t a neutral site game lol. 🤡

Agree it was about ensuring a potential sell out for those first round games. But ultimately it gives an advantage to the home team. Most of the top teams have a higher chance of winning at home unless there is just a large difference in the ability of the teams.

It appears they set the limit to the lower amount offered to visiting teams across the conferences so the schools can appease their season ticket holders, which I do understand.

But rather than offer the home team's season ticket holders additional tickets (over and above) what they normally use, I feel they should have offered those to the visiting team instead or open up a pre-sale for the "extra" to both as the same time. Which is sort of what happened as the "pre-sale" code was leaked.

I don’t know how many Vol fans will show up but I’ll say this, I have seen more people post that they are going, than I have ever seen. Not all Vol fans visit these boards. I know when we were in the Taxslayer Bowl, I was there, and shocked at the amount of orange. I think we’ll make a good showing.

I'll layer up, my orange will go on last.
I encourage other's to do similar. Going with my brother in law he's a Louisville guy. But I got a little orange for him too.. he'll be all Vol at the shoe.

I would hope we represent the orange and see it in the stadium.

I'm struggling with the orange vol Nike's... or boots. I think if go with the tostie toes and warm socks I can do the nike's.. .. we'll see.

That’s great that you are layering that way.
If I was going, I too would wear my big black parka and then put a Vols jersey on over it. Then top it off with an orange toboggan and orange gloves. Drink lotsa hot chocolate laced with Jack D and probably wear depends so as no trips to toilet during game. Was that TMI?

I'd rather there be no home field advantage this round. Playing up North the weather could take both teams out of their strengths and the players are more prone to injuries.
So is Knoxville the North? Because the weather is VERY similar...

Low @neyland on Saturday is 24...

Low @Ohio is 17....

The number of Vols fans attending will only be limited by the number of available tickets. In the 1986 Sugar Bowl that was about 50 k.
