Kiff screwed the pooch when he left. Screwed us royally as well. But he is still yet to recover. His next stop probably gets him back this level. But, it's been 15 years and his dad isn't with him anymore.I went to the Swamp when Kiffin was coach. Even wore a Kiffin shirt after he accused UM of recruiting malpractice. Got more than a few jeers from the home team crowd.
You are right that we didn’t have the horses but the team played very hard. We left thinking Kiffin was going to do alright for us (same feeling when he lost to Saban in the Mt Cody game).
What a wild ride that year was.
The curse is real. Just look at 2015 and 2017. In 2015 their QB killed us and then the next week he got disqualified for steroids if I remember correctly. That's just the Gods of football being against you for whatever reason.
I don't believe in curses. The curse is real. Just look at 2015 and 2017. In 2015 their QB killed us and then the next week he got disqualified for steroids if I remember correctly. That's just the Gods of football being against you for whatever reason.
Lulz. You just keep on doing you dude!
You have no idea what I'm acting like. You've obviously misunderstood my intentions. I'm not interested in being a part of your shenanigans so carry on.You act like other teams aren't playing bad teams as well. We've played a tougher schedule than damn near everyone in the top 10. Only Georgia and Alabama have played a tougher schedule thus far and that's mostly cause they've played each other. We've got a win over a ranked Oklahoma team on the road. Not many teams have ranked wins over a higher rated team. Once again only Alabama and Georgia have a ranked win better than our win at Oklahoma. Also we've played 3 games against power four teams away from home. I don't think anyone else in the top 10 has played 3 games away from home already this early in the season.
Once again if we've played a soft schedule, whose played a hard one outside of Georgia and Alabama?
I’ve always thought the 2002 season actually began the curse.I don't think the true "Florida curse" stuff actually started until the 2010s. Spurrier definitely had Fulmer's number, but let's face it - he was a better Xs and Os coach than Fulmer and I think intimidated him.
We actually won 4 out of 7 contests against them from 1998 to 2004. During the Urban years, they were head and shoulders a better team than us. This whole "Why can't we beat them even when we're evenly matched or when we're better than them" stuff didn't start until the Muschamp years and has continued ever since.
91, 95, 96, 97, 99, 00, 02(my Lord), 06, 07, 14, 15, 18, 19, 23 were utterly insufferable! And that's a lot of suffering. Most of the other losses were sheer team quality difference.
Stupid you say ?I personally find the whole die-hard fan thing stupid. You're unnecessarily causing yourself emotional distress over a situation which you have no control over.
I am a fairweather fan who prefers his mental well-being. So I only invest myself in teams when I know they'll be good. So instead of resenting me you should view me as a canary in the coal mine. Whenever I'm around it means Tennessee football is good. When I'm not around it means Tennessee football stinks.
