How should we feel?

Watching the Alabama-Georgia game was a rollercoaster for us Vols fans. Part of me wanted Alabama to win since Georgia still has a tough schedule ahead and could pick up losses down the road. But as the game went on, Georgia looked shaky, which made me lean towards wanting them to pull it off, since Alabama seemed more dominant overall. The game was tight, and honestly, Bama didn’t do much offensively 2nd half besides that late touchdown, managing just a field goal up until then.

In the end, it’s hard to say who winning benefits us the most, but seeing Georgia struggle like that definitely gives me hope for when we play them. Both look beatable.
On a neutral field we’re 14 points better than either.

A lot of football to be played but nothing changed my opinion that we’re better than our 2022 team because of our defense.

Georgia’s second half defense was great film for us to employ when Bammer comes to town. Granted, Alabama probably eased off the gas a bit.

I bet Bama +2- early last week figuring Bama at home would be tough. When it got to 34-33 Georgia, I was hoping that was the final score.

Watching the Bama meltdown if it would have happened would been classic. NTL, a Saban team would never get that many penalties at home in such a big game. That was usually a 1 or 2 penalty game for Saban.

Agree. But we play them both and if we want to be true champions, it’s time we beat them both in the same season. That’s what champions do.

I had posted earlier this week I was rooting for one team to blowout the other. Which IMO would put the loser in a pickle if they lost 3 in regard to the 12 team playoff but it was close game by the end. I've already heard pundits say they will meet again and maybe 3 times this year. So they've got their media rooting for it like the Heisman they steer the narrative.

These next 2 games help define us, whether we are a championship caliber team that proves we can win against solid opponents and avoid distractions and potential trap games. That we can bring the focus and intensity every game to show we belong. There is plenty of motivation to take care of business, lots of big possibilities for us down the road as long as we focus on them one at a time and bring the intensity every week. GBO

I changed my mind on the Oklahoma game, I've got several people that could verify this. The post about Oklahoma should not score more than twice was correct

First half I was really concerned about Milroe and Bama. They were playing lights out. Milroe was 11/11 starting out, and not on gimme’s either. UGA looked lost and confused on both sides, but Bama had their foot on the gas all half.

Second half calmed me down a little bit. UGA centered themselves and showed how one dimensional Bama is on O. They rely too much on Milroe’s legs for the ground game. Milroe also struggled to hit passes until he hit that home run late to retake the lead. UGA stalled them out for a few drives to get back into it. I think we can play a disciplined game on D at home. Bama’s D played pretty good but their young DBs were exposed a bit in the second half. They are all freak athletes but Beck torched them for three scoring drives.

I think we have the advantage on the DL and with our RBs. Both teams looked simultaneously great and terrible at times.
Williams for Bama is a a beast. Need J. McCoy on him all game. Milroe can just loft it up to him and let him make a play

"Both look beatable" was exactly my take.

I don't see Nico over Beck yet, maybe some day, but not yet.
Too many have the orange glasses on and think you aren’t a true fan unless you believe Vols by fiddy vs every opponent. Nico has a lot of growing to do and TN may not be as good as TX, AL or GA. That’s not being negative it’s being objective and unbiased.

Only IF our OL is healthy, and I mean healthy...We'll be underdogs to both teams...
