How was Hurd "more effective"?

I really really hope Scott gets redshirted to put a year between him and Hurd. IMO they are the best 2 backs we have signed in half a decade at least and i would like them to be staggered by a year so they both get a season to shine as the feature back. Scott didnt get quite the attention Hurd got obviously coming out of hs but he is VERY fast and is a solid back. The future is bright at the skill positions...hope Dormady is an absolute baller next year OR Peterman is unstoppable. If we have solid QB play next year we will win the SEC east. yes i believe.

Neither Lane or Hurd have impressed so far, and if they have not impressed against our lesser opponents. How will they perform against our SEC opponents and oklahoma?

So far, it is not looking good.

If you genuinely believe that Lane and Hurd's lack of production is all their fault, then you have no business posting on this board.

One of the reasons that I believe Jalen has garnered more carries over Marlin is because he does what the coaches want him to do. He is supposed to run and hit the assigned hole hard and trust that his line will do their job. Jalen was notorious for bouncing everything to the outside if holes/lanes were closed, but after a lot of criticism from the coaches, he stopped doing it. If the RBs do what the coaches want them to do, and the play wasn't executed well, it was no fault of their own. It was said to Jalen that he had to learn to "trust" his lineman and not make it up as he goes. It goes against what his line is trying to do for him. Is the entire running game doing their job right now? Not really, yet eventually, it will all come together and everyone will do their part and get on the same page.

Also, I believe Hurds ability to pick up the blitz, pass pro in general, and get tough yards (due to his size) is also attractive.

Personally, I believe that Marlin should maintain the bulk of the carries unless he proves that he cannot handle it. Whatever the reason that the coaches have done what they have up until this point is their decision, and I trust the process.

The Chatt Times, in their weekly position grades, said Hurd was more effective than Lane last week. Now Butch gave him more carries yes but his average per carry was less than Lanes.
I didn't get to pay close attention with how the backs played especially while pass blocking or running routes. Did I miss pn how Hurd played better or was the Chatt Times wrong?
Not that it matters but Im wondering if its Hurd performing or Lane losing the atarting role?
Of course with our Oline play Jamaal Lewis couldn't run the ball effectively right now

He made a hell of a block to spring the first TD. He also scored himself. He played an all round good game.

Your big boy punch as the 1st comment doesn't even make sense considering I was asking those who watched closely why Hurd was better. I also didn't say the CTTP was wrong I was asking.
Did you even mean to post that on this thread? When wit finds you holler back.

Dont sweat it man, there are alot of a##holes on this board. Its like freaking high school or something when you want to ask a question around here. Notice nobody says anything to the Senior members, just the "newer" posters. I agree with you, Lane was more productive with fewer carries but Hurd got the bulk.
