Howard's Rock Vandalized

I didn't say that I had no preference.

What exactly did you expect to get out of coming to a UT message board by claiming that running down the hill at Clemson is clearly superior to running through the T? Seriously? I've been to two Clemson games and have witnessed the running down the hill. Admittedly, it's an awesome experience, but it never ceases to amaze me that some people post stuff knowing damn well that it will just stir up a hornet's nest.

Or, you know, it's a thread about Howard's Rock in which people were questioning the importance of Howard's Rock.

Just thought I'd put it in perspective by pointing out the significance of Howard's Rock in comparison to something that Tennessee fans might be familiar with.

I guess people are supposed to feel sad? Just like with the tree at Auburn? Sorry, but no. Who freaking cares? I'm one of the biggest UT fans you'll ever meet, but I honestly wouldn't give a rats ass if somebody blew up "our" rock with dynamite tomorrow.

Some of the s*** people get worked up over is just retarded lol.

This tweet sickened me:

@ClemsonTim: I was mad about the rock, then I realized it resembled Kenny Mckinnley's blown off head.

He has since deleted both the tweet and his account.

We'll never understand what it is like to have a bitter in-state rivalry. Crazy/dumb stuff like this would be the norm.

Running Through the T is great, and without a doubt one of college football's best pregame traditions.

That being said, the vast majority of people who have seen both and lack a preference to one school or the other would rank Clemson's Running Down the Hill higher.

I've seen both, and I disagree with you.

Out of respect for LSU, Clemson should change its stadium's name. That venue is almost as overrated as Clemson's football program...almost.

I dont get these fans having to vandalize things of this nature. That rock and those trees mean a lot to generations of fans and players.
Of course if any UT fan can get there hands on the ridiculous anchor on West End and toss it in the Cumberland, I might have a change of heart.

Do you have anything to back up this claim other than you pulled it directly from your ass?

It's a tradition for Clemson, of course other fans won't appreciate it. Stfu. If it was something related to UT everybody would be crying like beeches.

Oh, I don't know, maybe the links I've provided from three reputable sources? What, do you want me to start linking to BleacherReport to evidence that posters on a UT forum are in the minority when it comes to thinking that Tennessee's intro is better than Clemson's?

Regardless of who did it, or their reasoning/motives, its just wrong. Very classless.

I guess in hindsight, I shouldn't throw stones (pun intended). There was a certain branding incident that we happen to be directly affiliated with after all.

At the end of the day, Clemson will go buy a new 5* rock to replace it....and still manage to lose 3 games at home.
